Not a good sign for Liquigas...they seemed to have pushed the pace too high too soon...Hara-Kiri

Liquigas' strategy of working at the front until J Rod attacks Basso seems sound.

He's the best climber in the world.. Surely he would still be there...

...

He said he was the 3rd best climber in the world, after Contador and Rodríguez. He can only perform in races when he has both of them available to use as a yardstick.

it's not Liquigas, it's Basso. Imagine if they were riding for Nibali? We would have seen some crazy attacks on these descents.

yeah and softpedaling on the mountains.

WOW, I didn't realize that. Always thought he meant Contador and Schleck as 1-2. Anyway, have to agree, come on guys, Ryo's not even participationg in this thread. Enough already

Contador and Rodriguez? Leaving his self-image aside, has Rujano somehow failed to notice Andy Schleck?

Actually, given that Rujano doesn't ride the Tour, perhaps it's unfair to expect him to know that the anonymous gangly rider he might see towards the back of race is actually one of the two best climbers in the world.

The thing is that he actually says he doesn't think that Andy Schleck is a true climber.

0 times? Except Serpa breaking his finger maybe.

Henao (especially) and Uran are doing fine?

You're being too hard and unfair to Ryo now

yeah. remember last year etna and grossglockner?

We all do. Scarponi was clearly just toying with Rujano on those two stages on his way to a dominate win at the Giro. ;)

That's just idiocy.

Schleck is the consummate "true climber". Contador is as good, but he's the perfect GC man rather than someone entirely reliant on his climbing brilliance.
