2012 Giro d'Italia, May 6th, stage 2: Herning → Herning, 206K

Cav, Farrar, Goss, Renshaw, Feillu, Demare.

Sprint line up is stronger than plenty of other GTs, and too strong for Chicchi unless he's had the Boonen treatment.

Before another retardo discussion starts, I'm too jetlagged to argue in circles with El-P feigning a mental age of a 4.

Luckily Wiggo and Cav are having the Rabo treatment Rabo had in 2007 ;)

Hey big baby, the clinic is not here, so fark off with your stupid doping hints in the professional road racing section ok? Thank you. I'm not the only one who's getting tired of your doping talk outside the clinic.

Farrar has sucked all year and all other names: LOL. Renshaw, Feillu and Demare: super-sprinters. Ok... If you believe so. The only big sprinter here is Cavendish. And if he gets boxed in or something that leaves the opportunity for a lot of second rate sprinters and that long list includes Chicchi.

All 3 were in Turkey.... didn't see much of them there. Kittel had bad luck. Greipel has no help at all and Petacchi is clearly over the top and not even of the level of guys like Goss and Bos anymore in speed

They're obviously not peaking for May now they're not riding the Giro.... Petacchi could still surprise a few. ;)

It seems pretty strange that Petachi isn't doing the Giro

He's old, so needs to prepare perfectly for the biggest event of the year. He was sick at the start of the season, so he didn't have a good enough build-up to be ready for the Giro. He's riding the Ronde van België instead.

Three riders in a breakaway: Oliver Kaisen (LTB), Migueal Angel Rubiano Chavez (AND) und Alfredo Balloni (FAR). They already have 7 minutes on the peloton according to live-radsport.ch.

I hope that JJ can reach the podium, he is Saxo's only chance. Or maybe Gustov to win the GC, which I fear is most likely.

what the hell is doing rubiano there?
M

aybe he is trying to avoid traffic, wind, fighting for position, crashes in the peleton. It may not be a bad decision to ride in front for a rider like him ;) Beeing in a break does not mean that you must give 100%

Riis said on Rai that they want to attack with the wind in the hope of getting the pink jersey with Boaro, but also said that unfortunately the wind will be less strong tomorrow.
With Taylor in Pink and no real GC contender, BMC will fight to keep him in the race lead. Riis doesnt have the team to knock BMC off. Sky and Garmin will benefit from this.

Sprinters don't need to peak to win races. Shown plenty times before. The only need form to survive hills ,not more.

Good point. It was probably more like that Lampre didnt want to take him and cunego and scarponi if he wasnt going to be in good form and he wasnt going to contribute. Last year he did an unbelievable amount of work for Scarponi on the hillier stages and he was climbing like a rocket.
