Harmon just said that points were more heavily awarded for flat stages. I thought that wasn't the case in the Giro.

Perhaps I've got it wrong (wouldn't be the first time)..

Wow, news just came in that the mayor of Horsens, where the stage tomorrow takes place, was hit by a heart attack today and has passed away. Might affect the stage 3 tomorrow.

Thats really a chock. Jan Trøjborg, mayer of Horsens, was (bizarre not to write 'is') a very highly profiled polititician in Denmark, and a former minister.

The tragedy happened while he was participating in a public giro-celebration cycling race called "Giroen i Horsens", a race of which I would have participated in, if it wasn't for a right knee injury.

Now Horsens can grieve of both 1 year of WW's death (marked with a 1 minute silence before start) and their mayor tomorrow. This is really sad :(

As far as I know, points are the same for any kind of stage.

Unless they've changed it in the last week, all stages pay the same number of points. It's just that this year a sprinter has more of a chance of winning it than the last couple of years.

I thought hushovd stopped doing massprints
He apparently thinks that today's finish suits him because it's slightly uphill. I highly doubt he has a chance though.
