Sad that on the day the peleton remembered Wouter Weylandt, we see such dangerous, careless, thoughtless riding. #Giro (retweeted by Cavendish)

Great, they're already abusing WW's death with their self-righteousness.

Didn't the riders in Tour de Suisse 2010 hold a protest because of Cav's reckless riding?

Even if it may come across as hypocritical it's absolutely correct that it was dangerous, careless and thoughtless.

Did not deny that, but as you say, it's hypocritical.

Is the team of Roberto Ferrari or the UCI going to do the right thing? Other riders, including myself, have been sent home for much less.

For crying out loud.

They didn't take you out of the Tour de Suisse even if you almost ruined a couple of careers... You've only been sent home once because of an obscene gesture.

Oh btw. since you came here. Remember how stupid i was yesterday for saying that Goss was the best sprinter behind Cavendish in this years Giro

What a load of "nonesence" that was;)

Which was much less than what Ferrari did.

So he is telling the truth, no ?

I also said the sprinting field besides Cavendish is a joke here. I said you couldn't know for sure if Goss was the best sprinter behind Cavendish, don't rephrase words here mate ;)

Luckily Cav is still in this race or this would be one of the worst sprinting fields of a GT since Vuelta 2011.

The fact that Cav almost ruined a couple of careers and that Ferrari didn't was exclusively a matter of sheer luck. If Demare, Favilli and others hadn't been so skilled and lucky, who knows what would have happened.

As you well know, the complaints have nothing to do with Cavendish, but with Ferrari. It was a ridiculous move regardless of who it took out.

His sentence is plural as if he was sent home multiple times already which is not true.

Besides, it was his team that decided to retire him from the race after all the flat sprint stages were finished. ;) Let's not forget that simple fact shall we. He abandons Romandie pretty much every year.

Cav retweets it which means he agrees with it yet he didn't say he was sorry back in 2010. I know it was a stupid move by Ferrari, that's kinda obvious. But the hate that's going on here and on twitter right now isn't really needed ;)

It's really strange to see El Pistolero suddenly defending sprinters. I just can't quite put my finger on why he'd be defending this particular instance.

It was an awful move but things like that happens. What I really find hard to accept is his unsympathic interview after the race.

His whole life is ruined btw by his massive fine he got that is 200 SFr... I mean.. That's like 165 euros! ...

+1 I hate to think what might have happen if that rider had not been able to bunny hop over Cav .

I'm not defending sprinters. Some of them are just as bad as Ferrari, that's my point. I'm not defending Ferrari's move, just don't think he should be treated as if he was Hitler. ;)

Definitely not by hypocrites like Cavendish.

Strange.

I remember something like this

Il Grillo:
I'd say you won that prize with the Farrar and Goss post
May 06, 2012, 20:19
The Hitch:
Yeah you are right, they are crap sprinters:rolleyes:
May 06, 2012, 20:24
Il Grillo:
Yes they are
May 06, 2012, 20:26
The Hitch:
how about you tell me which sprinters in the giro are so much better than goss
May 06, 2012, 20:37
Il Grillo:
Bos beat him twice
May 06, 2012, 20:38
Il Grillo:
even renshaw beat him
May 06, 2012, 20:38
The Hitch:
Renshaw stronger than goss, got it
Il Grillo:
This year yes
May 06, 2012, 20:39
Il Grillo:
Because Goss sucks so hard it's not even funny any more

Yes, the sprinting field is not good here and Bos just crashed yesterday which affected him ;)

If all the best sprinters of the world were here, it would be entirely different. But like I said, besides Cav who crashed today, most of them are absent.

I do not agree with you. Ferrari acted rash, but in fact just dived into a gap that Cavendish closed at the same time. It's not that he intentionally crashes into Cav. At best he may have thought, "this gap is mine and now it's someone else's time to hit the breaks just in time". I don't think he saw the danger (which is the problem) or Cav, just the opportunity. In every sprint, sometimes worse than other times, riders dive into (sometimes too small) gaps and it's someone else that has to break and has to prevent a crash.
Of course he didn't intend to take out Cav and ruin his own sprint in the process. No one's saying that. We're saying that it was reckless and irresponsible, you know, the kind of behaviour that can get you charged with manslaughter out there. The opportunity wasn't there, because trying to take it is against the rules. Simple as that.
Cav, as well, does this, but is better in his job (most of the times) and very well knows how to work with his body, head and hands - which sometimes may be worse, because it's even more intentional). Also, If Cav pushes you away or dives into the gap in front of you, it's more likely you'll hit your breaks than if Ferrari tries to do it the other way around - in full sprint, and, no discussion about that, with a very wrong manouevre. He should be disqualified, but he doesn't fully deserve all the **** that's coming to him at the moment IMO...
Cav Cav Cav. This has little to do with Cav, really.

Ferrari deserves everything that comes his way since the moment he refused to admit he made a mistake and said he doesn't care.

Nope. If you read the sentence, he could have been sent home just once

Other riders, including myself, have been sent home for much less.

In fact, one would suggest that the other incident, making it a plural, would be markos headbutts in 2010. both cases less than what Ferrari did.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the sentence. try to pin something else on cav;)

Stupid retweet from Cav, that. Crashes happen in sprints, yes even on the day Wouter Weylandt died, and his death shouldn't be exploited in this way. Absolutely tasteless, makes me puke.

Interesting to see Henao in the Cav train. Is he the new Tony Martin? :p

This year he was doing better than Goss yes(which doesn't say a lot).

Sorry for basing my self on their performances this year where Goss has been totally crap until today.

Goss has a better train than Rabobank though, that's for sure.
