That was the last day before a rest day transfer to the race's homeland too; he couldn't cross under his own steam, two teammates pushed him over the line. His ankle was up to twice normal size, but wasn't broken, just a severe sprain that had caused it to balloon. After the rest day he could ride on. Even if Taylor gets dropped in the TTT or whatever or the team have to almost stop to keep him in it, he does deserve the chance to defend the jersey.
