BMC lost a ton of time trying to keep Phinney with them. Bit pointless really, since they basically needed a perfect TTT to keep the jersey. Maybe they can pick it up a bit towards the finish.

Katyusha and Astana best Liquigas AND Sky at TTT.

WHAT?..

Cav battered. Thomas only used to shorter distances. 2 Colombians. And no real ITT rider in the squad.

Who the hell expected more from them ? Decent performance from the team they had.

Navardauskas is a nobody?

He got Top 10 on GC in both Tour of Oman and Tour of Qatar.

He kept Dan Martin out of Garmin's Tour de France squad last year. He spent hours on the front of the peloton in the race, working tirelessly for Hushovd and Farrar.

He won LBL Espoirs. He came 6th in the Prologue. He is a very good rider.

Radioslow.

Very likely Frankslow, and his shepherds waiting for him, given how many finished together, but yeah, underwhelming

I will give credit to Bavarianrider, he was right for the most part, with 9 teams within 12 seconds

+1, he is young, and developing very well! (plus he is helping my CQ team)

I imagine that they didn't want to leave Phinney alone, especially since he's wearing the pink jersey, but also to keep his moral as high as possible to make sure he makes it to the finish line. Since they don't have a solid GC candidate anyway (Pinotti notwithstanding), it's not a big loss.
