Cav came 3rd in intermediate sprint!!

He is a rider who maybe cant climb particularly well, but he is very motivated.

He didn't have to climb anything

In fact he probably didn't even have to sprint because nobody else is contesting it

The longest train ever seen in cycling:

Ulissi leads out Cunego to Malori, who leads him out to last climb, Cunego then meets Scarponi who has attacked and leads him out to last couple of KMs.:p

Cunego has about 3 minutes on Maglia Rosa.
Keep in mind Damiano is normally very good in rain and cold.

Chapeau Cunego for being the big stirring up spoon.....

It is easy for him as now there is no pressure on him GC wise, so he can risk all. Still impressive. Yet this tactic could suit Lampre numerous times this Giro as Cunego doesnt seem to have any interest in GC and it would put pressure on Liquigas to chase early, leaving Basso with less support later on, whilst Scarponi will have Cunego up the road to assist him.

Gustav Larsson in the chasing group, he is about 5 minutes down and of course does an excellent TT.
But he has shown weaknesses on every mountaintop finish yet.
It is interesting nevertheless because in general it is positive that strong TT-men forces the mountain goats to attack.
