What's the slop of Col D'Eze? Does Panzerwagon have a chance for a top10 in that timetrial??

Too bad Vino is not riding this

BTW - I still can't get over Schlecks towing somebody..... bloody priceless :D:D

I think Der Panzerwagen could in fact win that time trial.

Kvinto: thanks for the profile.

Yeah, looking at that he can certainly top10 at the very worst, if not win it

//Fanboy mode on//
Hope Menchov comes into this race giving half a ****, because even off-form he should get a good result with this sort of a race

Rolland and Pinot can't really TT, Taaramae and Peraud would be better options.

I think Rolland can do well, if he learns to time trial like he did in last years TDF rather than this years Etoile.

Big contenders are also Leipheimer, Wiggins and Froome...

I agree. However Wiggins i don't think will go well on Mende ( things lit up on its' slopes in 07 ). I could envisage Froome however going well on it ( Pena Carbenga ). The fact that Leipheimer went so well at San Luis makes him favourite in my books. Valverde, Martin, Kloden, Sanchez and Rolland/ Coppel to also challenge.

Reminds me of the Peña Carbenga Boys, with their famous hit "Boom boom boom boom, I want you Chris Froome".

So there is the a short time trial (basically a prologue), Mende (a punchy, short and steep climb) and a uphill time trial. Screams Valverde to me. Mende puts the guys like Wiggins and Martin out of the game.

Kloden doesn't lose too much time on short, steep climbs (see: Pais Vasco where he was also Martin's equal in the hilly TT).

You can get second in a race while never having had a chance for the victory. That was the case for boring Klöden.

the first part of Kloden's 2011 season was any but passive but if you watched the last year's Paris-Nice you should had noticed that even being passive you can win it

And the end of stage to Rodez:

PROFILKMS.gif

we knew that it finishes with a 500m 7.9% climb but that climb is before the finish. The last km is also 7.9%!

It's probably *not* 7.9% as according to the profile 545m is higher than 578.

I suppose I should be more excited now that there's another uphill finish where only minimal time gains are possible at best (unless JTL will be riding  )
