This year's parcours was pretty good for that type of rider.
For some reason they chose to ignore all the beautiful mountain passes in Norway and make a relatively boring course. Kelderman would've won anyway though, he was a monster.

I'm not sure if EBH or Hushovd would turn up with any sort of shape though, middle of May isn't exactly a good month to be in shape for someone who has peaked for the classics and want to peak for the TDF too.

That's why the course doesn't need to be changed for them... one or two stages with an uphill sprint, and one stage with a "climb" in the final. A bit like the Tour of Britain.

.

got to remember, as a 2.2 race it was attracting domestic and continental teams. cant make it too tough. The domestic teams and endura would be fine but the rest would struggle.

Belgian classics specialists usually do it for the Tour of Belgium, so there you go.

It looks like there will be no ITT like this year. Stages 4, 5 and 6 could be interesting. Stage 4 will probably arrive in the Montée Laurent Jalabert, where Contador won a couple of years ago in the snow IIRC.

Ah good old Mende. Good climb. Might tempt J Rod to start his season long peak at the scene of one of his great triumphs.

Vino and Contador have unfinished business there, if either are allowed to race that is.

Contador will do Tirreno-Adriatico.

Already a much better parcours than this year. Hopefully it's quite a long, technical prologue, which will then mean attacks need to be far out, but aren't discouraged by futility, after the joke that was the second half of this year's edition. A finish somewhere like Contes or L'Escarène would go down just right - a final climb of Berre-les-Alpes or the Col de Nice shortly before the finish would certainly spice things up.

lol yeah forgot.

If he does anything though that is.

If he gets banned he'll just ride T-A under a false name: Alberto Contatore ;)

And with a picture of Andy Schleck on his UCI license.

Supposedly the Tour of Oman will have no TT next year and the main climb of the tour is a 3km hilltop finish.
They don't want a time trial specialist to win it, like last year :p

Kreuziger to skip the Tour and target the Giro GC again.

Good on him, though now that he cant defend his jersey from last year I suppose hes got less to go for. Maybe can get a top 5 but id expect Rujano Basso Scarponi Purito Gadret, at least to finish ahead of him.

I do however wonder who can get the young jersey. Betancur maybe.

Majka, of course. If Riis could do it with Porte then he can do it with Majka :p

Guess Castilla y Leon is dead since it's the only reason why Contador would skip it.

The race is still on the UCI's calendar, incidentally, from 11th to 15th April 2012. However, they are struggling to find the money for it and have proposed a reduction from 5 days to 3 to keep it alive in 2012, though they do intend to retain it as a 5 day race if possible and in the future.
