So it's a done deal then, the stage will be modified? Or is there still a chance they will race according to the original route?
that article says it's deal done. But as far as I know it's not official.

There's the profile on post #1 :p

Never mind, I thought stage 5 had been adjusted instead of tomorrow's stage :p

Yeah, Scarponi/Evans like last year. Although Scarponi has a hand injury?

You know, you don't have to bring Phil up every time I don't mention him ;)

Apologies.

Haven't actually seen the finish since last year, Evans started so far down but almost pulled it off. Awesome by Scarponi to stay away. Cunego stealing second was good too... They were all a lot more shattered for the 250km as opposed to an uphill sprint after a flat 180km. Helps that it is a proper 1km over 10% and not 7-8 or just a shorter ramp like Valdepeñas de Jaen.

Maybe they could consider this stage with Lanciano for future editions of that race in May.

good stage for JRO too...

Yeah, he was coming off an injury last year, so he wasn't really in a good shape at T-A yet.

But I see why Pisti fails to mention him

radioshack has it in the bag.or cancellara who looks in uber awesome shape or horner.
prati di tivo has i think same altitude and in the abruzzo too, snow everywhere there.

suddenly paris-nice will be way better
also no chance for the colombians to make the top 50 overall.sad day.

You can't seriously think that Cancellara could win this. Even without Lanciano and Prati di Tivo it is impossible. + T-A is not his target.

i know, i was overreacting because the beautiful lanciano was erased.
tomorrow we see what chris can do
my guess is acqua e sapone will make the race very hard in the last 30-40 kms.they have three possible winners, all the team very strong

You were warned.
This alteration/cancellation stuff happens in Tirreno-Adriatico, a lot.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the finish come out of stage 5, either.

So far, it's been a complete dud.

Pity the passo Lanciano is cancelled was looking forward to it. Just a very long, hilly stage for tomorrow. Guess there's a good chance it will a bit boring stage now without any battle between the GC men. Just a bit of fireworks on the final climb, stage for Rodriguez or Gasparotto?

Damn it, not only does this make t he stage a bit less exciting also all the guy I was supporting in this race would have had benefit from that climb :(

Lol. No way.
Indeed. But if it's not raced very hard he might not lose much time. I don't know, in top shape it's not completely out of question that he manages to stay within a reasonable distance before the TT. After all, he already has 30 seconds to almost a minute on most of the biggest favourites.

For comparison, in 2010 he finished one of the hardest stages in 13th position, about 10 seconds behind the Evans group. If he climbs like that every day, things could get interesting. I highly doubt it though.
