Letting EBH ride a soft tempo half way up the first HC climb is just a fail, especially when you consider the mountain domestiques available for Leakygas.

Yeah... but only 3/4 that have potential to create gaps...

Rest are flat and 1 TT. It's not like there's much more climbing to come.

Tomorrow is probably hardest finish this Tour. If wiggo keeps Evans there- he won Tour bar any crashes or illness imo.

I only count 9 days to do something and in one of those Evans is likely to lose another minute if not more. Yesterday he had 10 days left, now only 9. And of those 9 some aren't suitable to try anything.

Its his way of making sure he doesn't lose a few seconds by a late surprise attack I guess. Basically he does the last 150m like Sky are doing the 199km before it.

Exactly. Even if they did not gain much time if they battered Sky then tomorrow they would be able to take advantage of it. I can only think that no one wanted to commit their men in the hope that the domestiques of another contender would attack. Plays right into Sky's hands.

But that is the thing.....sky had to work and as good a Wiggins has been this year (and in this tour), he is still partially unknown in the third week of a GT and the results he has had in the third week of a GT (when riding for overall) is ' barely able to stay with the soft pedalling on Ventox in 09 (as AC and AS waited for frank and armstrong) and in the third week of the vuelta last year we all know what happened.

I am not even sure anyone can break Wiggins but calculating your attacks still seems a better option than needlessly attacking on every bump in the road like everyone seems to want them to do
