Well at least Wiggo will likely never have to live with the lifetime shame of having lost his title like your little hero, save your breath for the Vuelta, I think you'll need it...

Moving on...any comments from Sky after the stage ?

Don't you get banned for making such comments outside the clinic? ;) I know everyone got banned who said something bad about Sky...

Froome was the strongest and was held back ===> Competition RIGGED ===> PRO WRESTLING

It's a hyperbole, a joke. You have no sense of humour.

At least my little hero doesn't need stronger domestiques to help him win a Tour. ;) I bet he felt ashamed when he got dropped by him.

Of course yes. He has to win a title first, to have it taken away from him.

So... you mean if everybody else EXCEPT Roland did have their share of bad luck (Gesink, Mollema, Sanchez,... even JVdB & Froome)? Sure. And if all the riders in the current top 10 except him crashed out, he could win the TDF as well.

I accept the bad luck of others/poor form of others have scewed the perceptions of peoples performances. But Alp last year todays stage? Rolland has shown plenty enough imho to be a gc leader in a WT team.

Well, there is nothing stopping him from riding like a GC contender. But he sucks in certain stages and tries to make up for it by going in monster attacks. It's nice to look at, entertaining and i definitely have sympathy for the guy, but he hasn't shown that he can be top for 3 weeks, without one weak moment. Without losing focus due to stress etc. Because that's what it takes. And you don't need an entire team behind you to do that. There are plenty of riders that don't have an entire team behind them. Actually, i think Rolland has had more help so far from Kern, than Van den Broeck had from Vanendert.

btw, none of those i mentioned lost time due to bad form.

Well if Wiggins wins this Tour he will have to live with the knowledge that he only won cos the strongest rider was ordered to work for him and to not attack. He will always know that he won despite not being the strongest rider.

Oh and he will most likely never win a Tour again.

That said it is amazing how he turned from a track rider to a TT rider to a GC rider, but I would really prefer the strongest rider to win. Its so sad that Froome isnt on another team.

Agree. Rolland looks like he has some real potential.

1. He hasn't won yet
2. if he wins there might be some "what ifs" but no certainty that Froome would have won like you bradhaters are trying to play it.

Didn't seem to bother Riis :D

Ok I will bite. Ullrich didnt have to wait for Riis, tbh it was the other way around on one particular stage after dropping alot of the favorites where Riis made the pace so Ullrich could follow and hence bring him all the way up the GC. Ullrich was stronger on the final TT though but he went all out and wasnt ordered to slow down. So really isnt the same thing. WOuld be the same thing if they let Froome go and then Wiggo won it in the final TT after all

You've got to think Froome will try to get out of his contract. Why ride second fiddle to Wiggins?

I never said he didn't did I??? I just responded to a post saying he was going to win multiple tours...a little perspective goes a long way!!

Relax, I was agreeing with you.:) They (Van Garderen and Pinot) both have bright futures. I'm just more excited about Pinot because it has quite rare in recent times that the French have had someone that has displayed the climbing prowess that Pinot has and now to have him and Rolland showing their talents at the Tour, it really adds a dimension of excitement for the French and for all cycling fans.

1: thats why I wrote "if"
2: Yes and thats the annoying part. We will never know. And Wiggins will never know if he was truly the best. Its ok that the smater rider beats the stronger rider, but in this case its pure team orders which suck. Just when it was the team that decided that it was Museeuw that should win Roubaix

Wiggins possible cost him both the Vuelta and the Tour. And from the post-stage comments it was pretty obvious that he was gutted

It would definitely be more entertaining for the fans.:)

Would be great to see Froome vs Sideburns on different teams, definitely. More spectacle! Level of Hinault-Lemond or AC-AS or Hinault-Fignon or Roche-Visentini. Epic. Let's hope Froome moves! Like the guy a lot. Modest, loyal class lad.

Btw, if you ever climb to La Toussuire, avoid riding a BMC and possibly get on a COLNAGO:

TdF 2006:
Chicken wins on COLNAGO
Floyd shi..ty climb laché on BMC

TdF 2012:
Rolland wins on COLNAGO
Cadel shi..ty climb laché on... BMC!

Interesting outcome today. I agree it is not over yet, and that the strongest is not necessarily the one in the leaders jersey. Man, we don't call Sky UK Postal for nothing. But we still have 3 weeks of this , and how will Sky/Wiggo do by then? I mean, can they hold up for that long? Sky's rivals all need to gang up: JVDB, Nibs, Cadel, & Europcar.
