He was explosive maybe, but in the final 500m he was dropped by Gesink (who up to that point had been struggling). So explosiveness is not exactly the key here.

He needs to gauge his effort well

That wasn't really my point. Gesink hadn't done jack sh* in that Dauphiné and had been softpedalling the entire week. And Gesink is always strugling, even if he is winning :) My point was that Jurgen is really NOT explosive.

This is classic JVdB: An attack out of the saddle, 50m, sit down and wait, lol. So while it's no easy task to drop him, he has a hard time dropping anyone else as well.

I hope some riders like Weening can get in the break as well as some Rabo, like LTD.

Evans has 18km to win the TDF. However i expect to see some action on the Mollard and it's descent.

Frank or Rolland to win the stage.

If Wiggins does not lose time here i do not know where- so i hope he does.

+1 agree, dont know where Orica/Greenedge will get their stage win from??

Gossy still have two or three more chance, but Sagan Cav might prove they are stronger after days of racing. Goss have whole team dedicated to him, but can't get their act together in the final kilo.

Weening is in shape. As was already evident in the Dauphine. But he's taking it easy on purpose in stages where he doesn't feel he stands a chance.
I think the friday/saturday stages are very good for him. He'll probably attack there

I suspect the sky guard of honour may be more fragile than most people think.

there is report saying team being very tense, and Porte and Roger not very happy today and Porte is asked not to give any interviews

God, I hope so. BMC have no climbers who can do any damage so it is up to Liquigas to do some damage. In saying that, damage can be done if the stage is ridden hard and if people want to race. Remember 2006? T-Mobile had a similar style of train that Sky had and the race certainly did split up. People need to take a chance. It is not impossible to get a gap on this stage. Far from it.

I hope so as well but when Porte is bringing back Nibali on a climb after doing work on the front of a HC, then you know that Sky is pretty much unstoppable.

The media have been saying continually that Sky has gone into media lockdown and are doing very little press.

I am afraid Liqui can't do anything either. Basso and Syzmed can't be seen anywhere when the road goes up. Will they come around tomorrow? Doubt it. In the end we probably still have to count on Lotto maybe even RSNT.

The problem for Evans and Nibali is that Sky know that they don't have to react straight away which means it is harder to attack and counter attack. This is why another team is required to break up the Sky train.

They simply need a situation in where Sky have to chase all the time. And especially burn through Porte/Rogers early.

If they somehow accomplish that then it's Nibali/Evans vs Froome (/Wiggins) and something is possible.
However I don't see a situation in where Porte and Rogers have to burn themselves out early without Evans or Nibali in the attack already.

Not sure that is accurate. He was one of just a few climbers to stick with Wiggins, Froome and Evans in all the mountains during the Dauphine. In the tour he has been happy to play his team role of helping Goss in the first week with some turns on the front and then resting whilst the sprints have been happening. Looked like he purposely took it easy in the previous stage and White says that Stage 11 could be a good one for Weening. Lets hope it happens that way. Importantly he hasn't crashed or injured himself during the first week of the tour.

Maybe he doesn't want to try or help OGE for fear of losing his hair. Team bet apparently that if GE win any stage Weening has to get a close crop or even a O'Grady type haircut. Apparently he hasn't changed his hairstyle/cut since he was 17
