auscyclefan94 said:Pointless in hindsight but waiting for the final climb was not going to work either. He had to try something dlwssonic as waiting for the final climb was not going to work for Cadel as nobody has a team to drop the Sky train. Nibali was very silly to pat Wiggins on the back today as he has lost the Tour himself.
Well done TJVG.

Evans will either crawl back on the podium, or go out with a bang in the Pyrenees. I think and hope the latter. From then on I hope he goes for one day races and the Giro. As an Evans fan I am so happy that he managed a Tour win after all those near misses, but I hope he doesn't spend his last 2-3 years hopelessly chasing another. He was right to go for it this year though.auscyclefan94 said:It is hard to disagree with you. The fact that he has been saying that 'I am getting better every day' says that he isn't where he should have been. It is a shame for the team and hopefully he can regain a podium spot when they go into the Pyrenees but I am not sure about that. It hurts more when it is Wiggins winning.

Hard to tell if it was wasted or not, but something had to qucken the pace. The stage was still slow as is.
Either way Cadel just didn't have it. Chapeau for trying but sad for him. Glad he got his win last year.
