You mean, from a swimming perspective?

OK so does this new coach that SKy employ have some sort of dubious record? C'mon give give something with a bit of meat in it to discuss or stop with the innuendo :(

Pointless in hindsight but waiting for the final climb was not going to work either. He had to try something dlwssonic as waiting for the final climb was not going to work for Cadel as nobody has a team to drop the Sky train. Nibali was very silly to pat Wiggins on the back today as he has lost the Tour himself.

Well done TJVG.

If Cadel didn't go then then Knees would've stayed at the front for longer at a soft tempo before passing off to Rogers.

Hard to tell if it was wasted or not, but something had to qucken the pace. The stage was still slow as is.

Either way Cadel just didn't have it. Chapeau for trying but sad for him. Glad he got his win last year.

Froome is carrying magnets in his pockets and when required, Yates and Brailsford crank up the massive Sky electromagneton wave-emitting machine to pull him up the mountain. There are more magnets in his glasses.

10 minutes before the time limit and only just guys as Knees and Taaramae have come in...

LOL

Wow, Taaramae had a really bad day then. Seems to do well one day and then suffers the next. maybe an after-effect of his illness earlier this year.?

It is hard to disagree with you. The fact that he has been saying that 'I am getting better every day' says that he isn't where he should have been. It is a shame for the team and hopefully he can regain a podium spot when they go into the Pyrenees but I am not sure about that. It hurts more when it is Wiggins winning.
Evans will either crawl back on the podium, or go out with a bang in the Pyrenees. I think and hope the latter. From then on I hope he goes for one day races and the Giro. As an Evans fan I am so happy that he managed a Tour win after all those near misses, but I hope he doesn't spend his last 2-3 years hopelessly chasing another. He was right to go for it this year though.

Wait what? That sprint for the line, gapping Nibali a bit, made Froome look like he was "cracking"?

that sprint doesn't meant he wasn't cracking, everyone knows he has a huge power in these short efforts and he was passed by pinot

Yes you are right. This tour is rather depressing for me. You are right, he had a go and tried. That is all you can do.

...and you're well versed in the Tour's vast history?

I think TJVG might have something to say about that. I'd say his overall performance across the whole day was better than Froome's. It was certainly over a longer period of time/length of mountain.

Sorry - the quote was meant to be in the post you were replying to Angrilu
something like Froome greatest domestique performance ever

Man I wish they'd let Froome dog out of his cage. Or he could just rip out his earpiece and go for it. Wiggo showed weakness (or humanity) today, but I can't see him cracking. And I think Nibali lost the Tour with that pat on the back.

Wtf. Kruijswijk, dropped very early, finished ahead of the Menchov/Monfort group
Taaramae at 25 minutes...

Man, some guys have literally died there

What's the temperature like? Too hot for some riders maybe?
