Gotta love team work. Great ride by Porte also only 1.30 back or so. Freaking amazing by Sky. Simply amazing. Did I mention Sky were amazing. They were ****oing amazing. Great thing is 'our boys' have just reminded us 'he' Valveede is a doper. Filthy Spainard,

Go get a UK passport (you can have mine) , or at least get a contract for SKY and pretend.

Can't stand Sky myself, but their fans are entitled to gloat after all that's been said on this forum. Be reasonable.

Yup, genuinely surprised by the mod reaction on this one.

People of all persuasions celebrate wins, but apparently if you a celebrate a win which has prompted clinic posters to reinvent their complaints as "its boring" in order to circumvent the unenforced embargo on that discussion, you've crossed an invisible line.

Brailsford is boss. And any more of these antics and Froome will be off to Accent Jobs. Another bollocking by Brailsford and Froome will be appearing before the cameras like a chastened little boy once again. This is modern cycling, Sky-style and you obey the team managers.
Wiggo once again registers 2 personal bests for quickest podium ceremony and "looking like I couldn't give a ****" during the handshakes. Another box ticked.

What does this Tour teach us?

- Froome stronger than Wiggins in the mountains
- Froome, Pinot & Van Garderen all very good for the future
- Evans, Leipheimer over their peak (Leipheimer for sure, Evans maybe)
- Nibali needs more recuperation to be able to win GTs against strong lineups (Vuelta '10 wasn't exactly a strong lineup)
- Voeckler is a beast
- Brajkovic will never win a GT
- ?

I think it's the "in your f*cking face!" tone of the posts that the mods took issue with

Lol, every WT team would want to buy Froome. If Brailsdumb wants to drop him he'll be screwed as Froome would beat Wiggins any day in a real GT.

Tours without AS and Contador climbing against one another are boring.

Well, the whole situation is a bit embarrassing for him. He should have insisted Froome chase for the win. It would have LOOKED at lot better.

Actual question: is Froomedog an actual nickname for him as it sounds like an insult for the way he's riding? associated words like leash/b!tch etc.

My guess is that if he took 30+ seconds the non-cycling Brits would figure out Froome might have been the better man. As there's very little knowledge on the sport there I doubt anyone will notice it this way. But to give up a potential tour stage just for that is pathetic.

Not all Brits are stupid and they know Froome is the strongest even the commentators & pundits keep saying it, but Brailsford has a history of having a favourite and that is Wiggins at the detriment to all other team members.

I can understand people wanting to take that approach. The tone of these boards has been extremely negative.

In the last few hundred posts Wiggins has been called evil, and someone else wished they all got run over, so I'm surprised it was someone celebrating the win which apparently causes a problem.

Oh well, each to their own.

Wiggins post race interview...

Just post race platitudes, like we mostly see. Besides this, which was nice

In the descent to the peyragudes he knew it was game over [for LIQ/Nibali]; that he was very close to winning the TdF]

No questions about the Froome Wiggins incident? Or did I miss that?

FroomeDog looked and sounded like he was holding back the tears in that interview.

Asked what the conversation during the final ks was, he seemed utterly unconvincing when saying "we were saying, we're almost there, we've almost done it, let's go!" - more convincing when asked if Wiggins had told him to go for the win. "No, I didn't see that."

"It was good to put more time into our rivals."

he only have himself to blame, just in a few years he will deeply regret what he did in this tour. Sounds like he was already in pain now. I don't think W feel happy about this tour either. He will constantly be accused the winner of gifted tour by fans and media. There is just no real and happy winner emerged from SKY in this tour. Will W and F even smile on the podium? Maybe a difficult one.

This is garbage. I gotta watch the best rider look back 30 times in the last 3k of the final mountain stage and ultimately not win the stage to avoid making Wiggins look like a b*tch.

um. i think he succeeded in making wiggins look exactly like a b*tch. he kept riding away from him, showing to the world that he was stronger, over and over and over again. if he was seriously interested in helping he would have kept the pace steady.

how much time could have froome really put into wiggins in the two mountain top finishes where he had the chance? 30 secs? 40? not really enough to offset the ITTs and the lost time on mechanical in the first week. and i am not a wiggins fan at all.

No smile from Wiggins when they crossed the finish. It's in the bag though...

Actually he was smiling in the replay!

Says in the interview that he lost his concentration after Peyresourde, "there was a lot going on in my head", "Chris was telling me to show what I could do but I wasn't listening"...hum, well hope he pays him back!
