what?! Isn't he going to attack every day? I was hoping he could win on every single fourth category climb of this tour

He was specifically told by Riis to take it easy today. Riis even said he'd go and bring him back himself if he tried anything.

He barely made it over the finish line yesterday (thank you Voigt), so I doubt he'll have the legs today. I'm slightly happy about it. Don't get me wrong, seeing him in the polka-dot jersey is great, but the circlejerk from the Danish media is getting out of hand. There was a poll this morning asking if he could take the jersey all the way to Paris!

TV2 has been rather he's not gonna keep it to Paris from the get-go.

Looking at the forecasts it doesn't look like the wind will be anywhere near strong enough to be a factor unfortunately. Anyone seeing anything different ?

Wet though - the sprint could be a bit of a lottery over that bridge

I just hope Kittel get's better; would be screwed for Argos Shimano if Kittel can't compete in the sprints. :(

Will be tough for him - if you stay healthy you can ride in to a tour, but if you're will sometimes it just gets worse and worse with the constant efforts - Sunday will be a nightmare for him.

We're underway...well, most of the riders are, anyway. Maarten Tjallingii (Rabobank) broke his hip in one of the Stage 3 pileups and abandoned after the stage.

Denis Menchov

All right, let our fans do not worry. Yes, at the finish line, in front of me dropped a few riders, but I managed to stop in time and not get into the dam. Since the incident occurred within 300 meters from the finish, I got the same time as the rest of the leaders of the race. Stage was very complicated, but I do, thanks to the team, he was confident.

Somewhat surprised...I would have thought Moncoutie would concentrate more on the King of the Mountains competition, the one he dominates in the Vuelta (he's won that four straight years)...this stage isn't exactly the stage with four separate monsters in the Pyreenes.

What do you want from him? He just don't like the Tour. I think he will go a few times in a break (mostly in moutain stages), and go for a stage win. It's not today, that's sure :D

Well, I want a million euros from him (exchanged into dollars, preferably), but I don't expect to get that. I would have expected him to save his energy for a mountain stage with more KoM points on offer. I'm not trying to belittle him or anything, but I am surprised that he would have chosen today to go into the breakaway du jour.

There are other media outlets in Denmark.

No one mentally healthy who knows just a little about cycling thinks he will keep it, not even in Denmark (that isnt changed by the fact that a media might have made a stupid poll).

However alot of Danes belive Chris Anker Sørensen will win the Polka overall. Imo he has a chance but its slim. Mørkøv, however, has 0% chance, and all know it. However, we will see him in breakways again for sure.

Do you seriously think he does not know that?

What's with the hostile tone? I'm saying that some media outlets were overestimating Mørkøv's climbing abilities and letting the hype get the better of them. RedHeadDane listed one TV station that didn't share this opinion. All I said was that there were other (less informed) outlets. TV2's knowledge is definitely above average compared to the competitors, so they wouldn't jump the gun on this one.

Yes, I want that money too ;) I think he just want to test his legs, because as I remember he always lost contact on in the previous stages.
