Here's some heart-warming news via BBC...

Q/
Johan Vansummeren, the Garmin rider who finished with his race clothes in tatters yesterday, is getting lots of helpful pushes by fellow riders as he struggles at the rear of the peloton. Great cameraderie in the peloton.
/Q

I would imagine that does wonders for his spirit.

Pacing the peloton does not really seem like an option for the team right now since they are down to 4 1/2 riders but Martin must be feeling amazing for the team to play their limited hand like this

It is slightly odd to see someone put the power down on the front and drop two of his team-mates in doing so. Would perhaps be better to wait for a flatter section where the strugglers at the back benefit more from drafting? They should get back on though

I seem to remember the peloton did that last year for Johnny Hoogerland too :) Agree it is a great sign of camaraderie :)

Not sure how his wrist is atm, but I got a feeling his wrist is pretty ok again.
I have no source or info at all about his wrist though, so it's just a wild guess really.

Who's the one with the wrist problems?

So then he is the favorite to win the stage from this group. The question now is if the group will survive  I think their lead is down to around 3'30'', no?

CAS is definitely the best climber in that group though, not Albasini.

It's going be close with them making it though.

If the peloton catch the breakaway I bet my money on Nibi, if not then Albasini ftw...

The lead is down to 2'35" now - I would think there is no chance the break will survive - there seems to be too many teams / riders wanting to stretch their legs and test their form (and make back some time lost to this point of the race)
