I know he can TT, just thought yesterdays hard work in the break would have taken its toll on Roy. Apparently not.

I dont think the Organisers want 1 minute gaps for the simple reason that there would be too many cases of the minute man being caught, bringing with it the dangers associated with support cars etc also overtaking. Look what nearly happened to Tony Martin in Stage 20 last year when he almost rammed the back of the car he was overtaking.

Jens speed today: 46 kph. In 2004 Voigt came 7nd, +3.19, behind Armstrong on stage 19 TT that had start and finish in Besancon (Just finish in Besancon today.). The stage was long as hell, 55k, and had the following profile:

Jens speed that time was 47.05 kph. Lance had an amazing 49.4 kph.

Westra's timegaps are weird too. Between 1 and 2 he loses a lot of time and places. But in the final part he gains the same lost places again and gains time.

Mechanical between 1 and 2?

Perhaps.

I do not know the gradients of the course but the final part seems to be a lot flatter, perhaps that has something to do with it, or there seems to be more descending on the second part.

Makes me wonder what time he could have rode then.

Someone pointed that he lost from this about Around 15( 20 ) -25 ( 30 ) secs considering he got it around 10 KM point.

The thing that he didn't change the wheel in team car suggest it was better to ride with flat rather than swap the wheels.

And swapping wheels and getting started again takes around 15-25 secs.

Only 50 riders left to start, so no wonder they opt for 3 minutes gaps.
You have to be German to find this more exciting than yesterday.

Tony Martin interviewed by Eurosport sounded a bit...........glum.
Having that puncture within 2kms can't have helped his mood.
