Does anybody know why Bouhanni, Spilak and three others DNF yesterday?

Were they involved in the crash?

They might have been involved in a crash, but not the one right before the finish where Barry broke his arm. Everyone from that crash finished and at least Bouhanni was not in that group anyways

Actually worked out remarkably well. Went to the front with 5 men and 7km to go, and still had 5 at the front at 3km to go.

Bizzarely, after 1 man doing all that work the rest did very little and left Sutton on the front rather early, so Appolonio went wheel hunting.

So the first 30 riders all had exactly the same time, except for sprint bonuses. Quite the GC battle.
