Edvald says the plan still is to do leadouts for Sutton. What can you say...brilliant Sky logic right there.

If this is correct, it`s just so ****ing stupid. Beeing a Norwegian I may be a bit biased...but seriously it is a very wrong use of Edvald.

I don't think you have to be a Norwegian to realize that it's *** to use the overall favorite as a leadout for a sprinter who isn't even faster than Edvald. The bonus seconds that he won't get due to his leadout duties tomorrow could very well be the difference between 1st and 2nd overall.

No, I would also think you don´t have to be a Norvegian to see that. I´m shaking my head in disbelief....

Norwegians and Sky, it's a love/hate relationship ;)

We prefer our boys to go steady with teams from the continental part of Europe, of course...France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium. Britan is just sooooo wrong ;)

I refer you to my previous point. Is it *** if they're taking the opportunity, against some serious sprinting oppostion, to get Eddie practicing lead outs, ready for the stuff that counts later in the year? Seems entirely sensible. This is only the TDU, don't forget.

You're assuming Sky are all that interested in winning the overall.

This strategy gets EBH a lower stress roll out and keeps Sutton happy. And a stage win by a local is probably worth as much or more publicity as winning the overall.

Question mark?

Based on what exactly? I didn't see him take any really big scalps last year in an uphill sprint. Yes he had some wins against OK opposition, but how can you be the best in the world when you haven't taken on the best in the world?

Hushovd, Boasson Hagen, Bennati, Cavendish (he's just too good), Gilbert,...

Exactly, he has not beaten any of them. Add Farrar, Boonen and Freire to that list.

Does anyone know if there will be full coverage of the race or just highlights?

Highlights only for the first 4 stages. Live coverage for stage 5 and the final circuit race.

Tennis is such a ridiculous sport.

Tennis is played by overpaid spoil brats.

By the looks of the ABC preview (which is quite good), most of the race is on highways/freeways with very open roads. If only there were crosswinds instead of headwinds today because we could have some cracking racing!

P.S. I'm back!

Not sure the northerlies will hold, currently around 15-20 knots.

Stinking hot and maybe thunderstorms though?

tennis which is aired on channel seven has no relevance ;)

Tennis which is aired on both Eurosport channels here instead of TDU has relevance.

Tbh, I don't know if Eurosport would air it anyway but now you know my relationship to tennis in general.
