Only logical tactic, Matthews stays with the group and Lulu and Wilco cover attacks. I certainly expect something from Lulu, he has done no work all week so he should be fresh.

And he was the strongest Raboguy on their teamcamp, allthough I'm not sure if that means anything. Allthough I guess it meant he certainly was very in good condition for the new season.

Updated market for Stage 5....not overall....although they would be similar odds. Can't see the current leader on the boards anywhere

No Kelderman on the list even more confusing! :D

All riders that can win tomorrow and I somehow left Freire out of the list... I don't think he can do it and there are some names on there I just don't know yet like Matthews and Kelderman obviously :)

Should be fun tomorrow
Why leave Matthews in and Freire out? He left Rabo, and now he can't climb anymore? The guy can get top 10 in Ardennes classics...

forsure someone else will win now kwibus :p

Well that would be fun for sure. Breakaway stays away and some random guy takes it all.

Yeh, but it's purely based on his performances on the Cauberg. He always tried to win the AGR, but he always failed on the Cauberg. Why should he be able to win on Willunga?
If he proves me wrong I wouldn't care. I love the guy.

To even get to the Cauberg in the front group you have to be a pretty good climber. He's won Tirreno-Adriatico in the past, that race involves more climbing than the TDU

Not to mention that Willunga isn't as steep as the Cauberg...

GVA has a good IF he has good form. Kohler will probably lose the jersey:(
Interesting quote from Rik Vebrugghe: "Plus, it finishes at the top. I think we'll arrive with maybe 30 or 40 riders in the first group."

That is probably an exaggeration by Vebrugghe but if there is a headwind then yes I do expect a big group to finish with the leaders.

True. To reach the Cauberg you allready had lots of climbing and here the distance isn't long and they ride Willunga twice. Fair point.
Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Hey Kweebs, to give you another chance to whine about Rabo tactics:

Kelderman said they were too far back at the beginning of the climb today, and he had to ride to the front with Luis Leon and Matthews on his wheel, passing dropped riders. Now suddenly Frans Maassen mentions Kelderman as one of their GC riders on the Rabo website. WTF? He's been working for the other guys all week.

didn't believe this last week, nor this week ;)

to be fair it was actually Mathias Frank that led the peloton on Menglers and also was doing a large amount of the work on the front ontdays stage and the Stirling stage. I have been surprised of his strength on the flat as well. I really think he is a good prospect for the future even if he doesn't feature tommorrow because he has to work for Kohler.

Mathias Frank really impressed me at the Tour de Suisse last year, crashed before the climb to Malbun and then rode the climb virtually on his own, passing almost everyone to finish 7th. Wouldn't surprise me if he rode the fastest climb that day.

Didn't do much the rest of the year though.

So................

before joining the site here i had never heard of Wilco Kelderman before . From what i have gathered he is a first year pro. Can anyone explain to me why he is receiving such massive amounts of hype?

The Dutch posters on here are all lunatics (which you will soon learn). They don't actually watch cycling but seem to pick a random rider and wish he is good because all of the other dutch riders give Dutch cycling fans no reason to watch cuycling considering how bad they all are. :D

Quite a talented rider, of course slightly overrated by the Dutchies on this forum, but it's all tongue in cheek.

Had some good results last year, considering he had a quite a few crashes and injuries throughout the season.

:p I always followed cycling, but pretty much only the races shown on TV. Wilco is a first year pro so that's why i never heard of him. We'll see tomorrow though, if he can win TDU in his debut we have a possible jewel on our hands.

At the age of 19 he won Tour Alsace after winning queen stage on Ballon d'Alsace and was 10th in very hard and mountainous Tour de l'Avenir. At the age of 20 he won Thuringen Rundfahrt, Tour of Norway and prologue of Tour de l'Ain ahead of Peraud and Coppel. And if you look at cq he scored highest amount of points as a first year u23 since Hagen. This kid can climb, tt, he's great at prologues and quite fast (8th in some French 1.1 classic after winning uphill sprint from big group).

If Matthews get dropped tommorow (which is possible coz Movistar and GreenEdge will try to make race as hard as possible) Wilco might have a chance to finish TDU in top 15, maybe top10.

So all Dutchies are kind of like you and your opinion of any rider on BMC, no?

I wouln't go quite as far as that... well, apart from maybe Ryo could perhaps be put in that category. :) but he supports Colombians for some reason.
