Does anyone watch the backstage pass that greenEdge post on Youtube? They are doing a daily one for the tour of California.

Anyway the two Meyer brothers are having a bet among themselves to who will do better in the TT.

I know a bit about Cam Meyer on the track but don't know much about him on the road and know nearly nothing about his brother. Are they both any good at TT?

Edited to add: DOH I do actually know about Cam as a road racer, sorry brain fart. lol But still right that I know nothing about his brother.

Time to start separating the pretenders from the contenders, at least a little bit. Also, we can start to see if anyone's been a-sandbagging :D

Velits

Velits shouldn't be forgotten too, from the finishes, he seems to be in good form. Normally, he's above average ITT-ist, even won VUELTA ITT back in 2010. And his advantage can be, that he's 12th in GC for now, so all of the ITT favourites will be starting before him.

About Sagain, i'm really looking forward to what he can do, he's won the stage finishing in bakersfield back in 2010, his first pro season. I wouldn't be that surprised, if he had best time in the final climb, both ascent and descent too(his descenting abilities are freaking good). More question is how much will he loose on the flat parts.

No he didn't, that was a mistake, corrected almost immediately.

BTW, Busche winning the TT? Is he your neighbour or something?

What about the "domestic" pros.

Top 10 for someone like Ben Jacques-Maynes, or even Rory Sutherland...

1. Zabriskie
2. Durbrige
3. Talansky
4. TJ Van Garderen
5. Meyer
6. Danielson
7. Sutherland
8. Nibali
9. Ben J-M
10. C. Meyer

Haha, yes it is probably very unlikely, but he can TT.

I didn't realize that about Talansky. He could do well in the TT. I am just looking forward to some time gaps!

What kind of form does Bert Grabsch have? He has an excellent history in ITT's.

I'm going with:

1. Zabriskie
2. Durbridge
3. Grabsch
4. Velits

Sutherland crashed and hurt his hand earlier but then made an attack just before the sprint so he will probably show something.
BJM is exciting but I really dont know about his TT history.

Lawson Craddock should put on a decent performance.

Nathan Brown is good against the clock as well.

Joe Dombrowski can certainly push some watts on the flat, despite being such a tall lanky climber.

Josh Atkins - Same as J. Dombrowski - Only difference is their stature.

Carter Jones could potentially do well! Although he doesn't seem to be completely back at his old level, after his knee injury last season.

I don't think any of them will feature in the top-10 though! There is solid depth TT wise in this field.

My pick today : Andrew Talansky.

The Token U.S. Domestic top ten will be Zirbel (though I would prefer Ben J-M)

Watch out for Tom Dumoulin, it may be a bit too long for him atm but he definitely has it within him to get a top10.

Agreed that Levi is a question mark. But looking at the start times, I'm wondering how the early start times of some of the better ITT cyclists may affect the outcome? Furthermore, with Hincapie starting so late (thirteenth from last), I think he may surprise...
