i don't think it was a mistake, this could happen to anybody

if he thought he were the strongest then why not?
He should know better by now when to attack :D

Never expected Porte beating Machado or Costa in a hilly stage, well done to him. Should have the GC win in a bag too. Well done Sky.

Loved seeing EBH pulling hard today, into the last climb, shelling people out the back, setting it all up for Wiggo and Porte. Kind of reminded me of the monster pull he did for Wiggo last TdF. Nice one, Sky! Still early days and the competition will be a lot harder come GT's, but a nice one, nevertheless.

Tiago's tactics weren't crap. Porte was the strongest, that's all. Though I would like to see him win something for a change..
Great day by SKY and Porte.

Yes, he should
But if the group contains just a few guys, somebody should attack. And it looks reasonable to me that someone like Tiago does this, considering that Porte is a better tter.

I felt he was right to attack when he did . he felt the strongest and needed to gain time. Realistically SKY have 4 guys ( EBH, Froome, Wiggo and Porte) who could top 10 the TT

Yeah, it was what he should have done and no way he can be blamed for bad timing. Malhao is the place where he should have gained time and attacking is the only way to do this. Porte just proved to be stronger and thus won.

Not surprised to see that Sky put all their eggs in one basket. At least it worked out this time, which is probably the first time ever that tactic has worked for them and not made them look like idiots.

no way Martin takes a minute from Porte in the TT, even his absolute watt power was probably lower than Portes today and Porte knows how to sit on a TT bike as we know.

By the way, does anyone know what happened to Nordhaug? Did Sky use him really early or what? Considering that he beat Machado etc by almost a minute just a week ago he should've been up there...

He only needs 50 seconds. :D
And his total power output most defenetly was not higher then Tonys. Tony is easily 12kilos heavier then Porte.

Tony is having a slower start of the season this year because he had knee problems during the winter.

He was 3rd over one of the earlier climbs, so I'm guessing he did early work with Zandio and Sivtsov.
