I tell you what though, some of the sections of roads are dodgy, roundabouts and some mad street furniture.

Martin had a knee injury during the off-season and is having a slower build-up than last year. I still hope he'll win though, should be possible with this field.

Is your dislike of canc making tony the 4th muskateer of your group of favs ?

EBH was originally not going for the GC, but might be giving it a try tomorrow since he has the leader's jersey. However, the Sky team is extremely strong so he might have to sacrifice himself for Wiggins or Froome (won't be the first time we see a leader's jersey sacrificed in Sky!). He already has 17s on Wiggins though...
Well Cummings won on Malhao last year... And Hagen last year around this time was 2nd on Green Mountain.

He should be able to do well but it's hard to tell.

What's up with Heino ? Bad shape or saving energy for Het Volk ? In his best year (2009) he was riding great in Algarve and then had very successfull campaign on cobbles.

I don't dislike Cancellara, just the hand that feeds him. Although I wouldn't mind to see him fail if he keeps up his stupid gladiator/childish interviews. And what he did to Riis, along with the Schlecks, was pretty disgusting to say the least and he paid the price for it in 2011. Don't mess with karma.

And nobody I really like is riding this race anyway, so why not root for Quick Step.

i would like also nuno ribeiro to shine but i'm afraid the portuguese riders barring machado have absolutely no chance

What are the chances of Tiago Machado dropping Tony Martin tomorrow?

if tony is indeed in bad shape since machado already has a few days of racing in his legs and i think is targeting this race the chances should be fairly high imo. tho since the climb isn't overly hard one never knows.

I hope Nordhaug is allowed to give it a go tomorrow. Would be a waste of his good form if he isn't. There should be enough strength in the Sky squad that Nordhaug, Froome, and Wiggins can all give it a go.

Reading the Sky website, Sean Yates says: "Richie [Porte] is feeling good so we want to get him in the right place". So that's another one.

On Teamsky.com they say they will be going for Porte tomorrow. Some dilemma they have there, with EBH, Wiggins, Porte, Froome and Nordhaug all being potential winners of the race. I hope the DS knows what he's doing.

If Porte is really feeling that good it may not be a bad shout to ride for him. Froome and Wiggins may have no form at all. And I know he won well today, but EBH doesn't look quite on form at the moment to me.

I say let them all have a go.

How do you know about Froome ? If he's going to ride PN as Sky's leader he has to have some form already.

"may" have no form. Wiggins and Froome have only done two race days each, so it wouldn't be a shocker if they're not at the pointy end of things tomorrow. Nordhaug may be a better shout for the stage tomorrow, and Porte may be a better shout for the overall. But they may not be. They have 5 decent cards to play.

Did I see one of the sprinters go into the Commisaires cars at the end?

Oh come on, Carlton Kirby is awesome. I actually really enjoy listening to him.

The fact that most of what he says is nonsense is an aside for me. In all fairness, I find it hilarious that he names riders with absolute conviction without any evidence that it's actually them.

He had a Jetse Bol moment again today and was convinced that the Vacansoleil guy in second (Bok-Bok-Boeckmans) was Hoogerland for some reason.

A couple of years ago, every time Quickstep formed a sprint train, they were perhaps getting something together for Seeldraeyers.

Sky has a monster team for Algarve; Froome, Wiggins, EBH, Lövkvist, Porte, Nordhaug, Sivtsov, Zandio

...add Flecha as a Road Cpt. and you have a pretty decent TdF team

Would be interesting if they did that, but you need to fit in CAV and his 6 helpers.

Ever heard about "The curse of the rainbow jersey"?
When Cav crashes in a sprint in Tour de Suisse and brakes his shoulder, there will be no need for his 6 helpers ;)

You mean when Cav crashes in a sprint in the Tour de Suisse, half his opponents break bones and sit out the rest of the season, while Cavendish wins 8 GT stages and a points jersey?
