Philippe Gilbert in a break, guess we can count him off the list of todays winner.

Markel Irizar, Nico Sijmens, Sergio Carrasco, Dominique Rollin. Andrey Zeits, Pim Ligthart og Christophe Riblon with him.

I think he knows well enough that he won't survive the final climb (5,5 km at 7,8% hmmm)

If the break goes in i think it will be between Irizar and Zeits.

This might be THE DAY of switch between generations, between the big ones, the multiple big tour winners. From now on, it's possible to resume everything to Froomie, and not to Contador. I'll copy-paste this from time to time for the next 6 years. :)

Contador and Froome are from the same generation. It's just that Froome was a nobody until recently.

They learned from last year, then a stage win gave 20 points.

In fact, if it wasn´t for the bonus seconds, Froom would have won the Vuelta last year with Cobo in second, so how fair it is, I really don´t know.
When bonus award are included in a race they apply to everyone so you can say they are fair. time bonus reward stage and sprint winners. When CG contenders use them to win the overall they show a different talent and that too is fair .

So are you suggesting Froome doesn't have a natural talent?

Cant imagine they will let them ride, and I've got some money too much so :p

Is there a guy from Katusha in the break?

If not then no way the break will last untill the end. Purito needs the boni seconds.

It might be unfair comparing Froome to Contador. We should compare him to someone else. Anyone else. He loses to ~90% of them anyway in terms of showing early potential.

Oh silly Hrotha dont forget he showed sooooo much potential on the 2008 L'Alpe where he was at the base with the peloton like 70 other riders!
