I go with Juanjo as a main rival. He is an extra class climber in his top form. His Angliru was the same magic as Contador's Verbier. I enjoyed this cycling poetry of the highest standart. His climbing versality and ergonomics of climbing technique are almost as perfect as Contador's ones. Cobo instills some fear even in anticipation of the Tour. And I'm being absolutely serious now.

Thanks for sharing. Those poor club riders, LOL.

He is one of the most efficient, fluid, stylish riders I've ever seen....and I'm old!

The scene in the 2nd video is dreadfully scary, he is lucky to be alive.

Cant't find it... Link, please.

I hope he fails miserably, it's a joke he is even riding the race , I will start rooting for him again in 2 years from his ban date.

After making an initial peak shape without having competed, only training base, Alberto Contador (Pinto, 1982) has decided to take a short holiday to mark the Holy Week. The Spaniard, who now only have four months of suspension, it feels safer and stronger than ever.

QUESTION. A holiday in April? Is it normal for a cyclist?
ANSWER. I will disconnect. But only for a week. Even without competition, I made a very strong early season and I want to disconnect.

P. How you have made a very strong start to the season if you can not compete?
R. Yes, because I've been working very hard and, despite the penalty, I have not relaxed. Demanding training I've done, harder than the competition itself. Do not be afraid to get tired, because the next day you do not have to face anyone but yourself, you can speed up more. I'm happy with how I've found, because I've gotten better data than other years.

P. Explain.
R. I lowered the record I had in the port where I usually do the test. And on two occasions.

P. When was that?
R. The first time just before the Paris-Nice and the second about 10 days. The previous record was a few days before the Giro last year [which won by miles].

P. So you have removed the anger in it?
R. I felt very good training. My friends were eager for me to take a vacation or back to normal, because I have tortured a lot. Some days went out with some and when they returned home, I went with another group to complete 200 km. On other days, was alone and facing the wind.

P. So, you have simulated races in training...
R. Yes, that's what I did. Some days as I explained before, I have suffered more than in racing. I have also done enough after-moto.

P. And do not be over lap?
R. No. Besides, I have ample time to recover. So I take this break now. Other years, around this time, or was in the Tour of the Basque Country or preparing for the Tour of Castilla and Leon.

P. In short, you have done a first peak form without competitions. Is that so?
R. Yes, it is. It's been hard, because you look good and you can not compete, but thanks to fan support I've gotten along pretty well.

P. And how are those on the fence? Why not tell me you have not seen anything ...
R. I've seen all I could. Some days I've been wrong such as when he started the Tirreno-Adriatico, because it was a race that was looking forward to try to win. But I like to see the rivals.

P. Has not been envious?
R. It is not envy but wanted to run.

P. Evans has already score, as usual, but Andy Schleck is not getting off.
R. But it always begins like that, and then, in the classics, is already ahead. Which is known to reach the Tour at 100%. It's no surprise what he's doing.

P. Something or someone has caught you in this early season?
R. Boonen. I'm happy for him because he has once again become a reference for all, as before.

P. And Valverde? Are not you surprised that after one and a half suspended, winning has become?
R. Not at all. I was sure he would win very soon. It is a superclass.

P. You have already served two months of sanction.
R. Yes, thanks to training has made me not long.

P. And still does not eat beef?
R. Yes, and I will not do until you change the rule or finish my career. In my opinion, this provision is obsolete and sooner or later have to change.

P. So why are you so sure?
R. Yes, because I have experienced in my own flesh. It seems impossible that these things can happen until it happens to oneself. I will not be very wrong when the Chinese ban their athletes eat meat not provide it themselves and when, for instance, hundreds of football players tested positive in the World Under 17 in Mexico.

P. At this time you have been without competition, have had time to set new goals?
R. I would be in the best races, starting with the Tour of Spain. Perhaps also the Eneco Tour, the San Sebastian Classic, the World Cup and the Tour of Lombardy, careers in other years were not in my calendar and this year I can go well.

P. Vuelta will welcome you with open arms.
R. Like I get a fair bit, but is long and as the days go by I feel better.

P. What test will run?
R. I can not confirm yet. It could be in the Eneco Tour, but also in the San Sebastian Classic.

P. Thinking of the World road race or timetrial?
R. Although I know that the road race will be hard, I'm thinking more in the time trial because the other fellow (spaniards) are theoretically best suited. But I'd be with them to help.

P. Have you reached an agreement with the Saxo Bank to continue to compete with them when retrieving the license?
R. I have to feel happy to see that, directly or indirectly, many teams have contacted me, asking about my situation. I feel supported. But the year and a half Saxo Bank has given me confidence and I can not forget and that's my priority right now and I do not plan to be on a different team than the Saxo Bank.

P. Any Spanish team has been interested in your situation?
R. [Laughter. He thinks] Let's say that a touch has been.

P. Have you digested and the judgment of CAS?
R. Sometimes I wake up and think it is impossible for me to be happening. But I have tried to isolate myself and not think in the past to look forward. Thinking about the past is torture. And then, of many turns to give the subject, do not fix anything.

P. What hurt you most of the CAS ruling: The punishment of two years, the loss of the Giro Tour 2010 and 2011 or the incomprehension of his case?
R. What hurts me most is that I am quite sure that the CAS arbitrators know I do not dope.

P. Why do you think that arbitrators know that you didn't dope?
R. When I left Switzerland after the last session of the trial, was fully convinced that the arbitrators knew he was innocent. I was 100% convinced.

P. But you have gotten two years. What happened?
R. After what I saw, I expect anything. There have been many changes ... I wanted to trust and so I struggled.

P. How did you react when you announced the sanction?
R. You can not put into words. You see everything and do not care that there is no justice at all. It does not work as they should.

P. And do not think of sending it all to hell?
R. With the support of the people, no. Now I've gone around to things, and I turned my back on a challenge.

P. The CAS, at least partially agrees with you when they acknowledges that doped and its positive could be due to ingestion of a contaminated supplement.
R. Yes, but I have gotten two years when different sentences in cases like this ... Don't dope and ban me two years seem incompatible.

(I tried my best, sorry for some script errors)

Good... world cup and lombardia, fine by me.

Hold the celebrations. He says "perhaps". He has in the past answered this way to questions if he will do a race and decided not to. For example 2012 Giro pres he said he might do it but of course was never going to . Didn't he say he might do the Vuelta in 2010?

Hopefully he does do the Worlds in particular and Lombarida, but we must wait and see.

He'll have a bit of pent up anger and energy to expell. I'm hoping he does each and everyone of the races that he mentioned whether it's to help his compadres in the Worlds RR or to race for his own results. I just want him back racing. For someone that loves to compete and ride his bike I can't see him passing up opportunities like Lombardia. I would love to see Valverde in Lombardia too. I think he'd do well.
