Just had a bet with my dad, if he don't win the Vuelta with 10 min, something terrible will happen to me

Oh no! Even more reason to cheer for him I would say.

I was right about Eneco Tour! :p Don't know who I had the discussion with though.

It was me. And we weren't even saying which races he WOULD do, but which ones would be better Vuelta prep.

I still maintain that the Tour de l'Ain would be better preparation for the Vuelta, but Eneco gives him more race days and of course if he's coming back with Saxo they'll probably be desperate for the WT points.

Vuelta 06 the greatest GT ever, if Alberto can show something like that he will be my new favourite ;)

You mean needing to go nuts on the last mountain stage to take the jersey:D

I'm happy with how I've found, because I've gotten better data than other years.

P. Explain.
R. I lowered the record I had in the port where I usually do the test. And on two occasions.

P. When was that?
R. The first time just before the Paris-Nice and the second about 10 days. The previous record was a few days before the Giro last year [which won by miles].

monster in the making.give them hell.

P. At this time you have been without competition, have had time to set new goals?
R. I would be in the best races, starting with the Tour of Spain. Perhaps also the Eneco Tour, the San Sebastian Classic, the World Cup and the Tour of Lombardy, careers in other years were not in my calendar and this year I can go well.

easy, win them all.jaizkibel-muur-cauberg-ghisallo meets the king.

i just hope "no more gifts.to nobody"

meh, he won't give gifts to people unless they can be used for something (or he think they can be used, for an example Rujano last year)

By the way;

P. Something or someone has caught you in this early season?
R. Boonen. I'm happy for him because he has once again become a reference for all, as before.

Told you they don't hate each other :D The man knows his cycling!

What. Contador is all about gifting stages. Like the one he gifted Fränk for no reason whatsoever.

I saw an interview with Gregory Bauge in some Brit paper today and he said that when he was a kid he would watch with his dad , the Tour of France and the Tour of spain.

Surprised to see that.

He also says he wanted to become a road cyclist. Shame the track aka the road cycling development sport, stole him from us.

You really think Alberto wouldn't have won the Giro easily without recruiting Rujano to help him?

How many "no gifts" moments do we remember from Contador? I can only think of him and Leipheimer sucking Mosqueras wheel all the way up to Fuentes de Invierno in 2008 then leaving the Galician floundering in the last 200m. And even then, the primary reason was that he'd struck a deal with Valverde to work together and give the Murcian the win, only for Valverde to bonk inside the last 2km.

i think he thought he could use Rujano, to make it easier, but Rujano got sick (?) so he wasn't to much help anyway
I am not saying he is a cynical guy that only will use people, but i do think that except the stage win of Tiralongo, he gave away stages to make friends with others (Tiralongo is already a friend, so there he was just nice :) )

Wheelsucking Rujano doesn't give you much draft. Fleur, would you go to see the Eneco in public if Contador races?
