Then when repeatedly told that this is not the subforum thread to do it in, began to whine that people are against him because he has different opinions:rolleyes:

That's why he's a Schleck fan, they both love whining:D

I was saying out about Sanchez quite positively, but specifying that the fact, that he acts like a toady with Contador, invites some reflection. It is not a direct charge, just my thoughts. Interesting thing - I wrote in that post "whether they eat from the same plate" - you called it a doping accusation, although you don't consider him [Contador] a doper. But OK, sorry, I always forget that a bossy Hitch is always right.

This is the awkward time when the classics are basically over and the #TDF just isn't getting here any time soon. #procycling

Boring classes gave me time to think.

What if Alberto isn't going to totally dominate the Vuelta?
What if he doesn't win 5+ stages?
What if he doesn't win with a 5+ minute advantage?

Would we (I) be disappointed?

You, obviously yes, most others, obviously no as the more competitive the better.

Perhaps the best would be: What if Alberto doesn't win at all! ;)

Nah, that means he's just training for the worlds and that he was just looking for company in those 16 stages he didn't win because else he would get bored as hell. Just like sestriere 2011 (giro of course), i had the idea everybody was in pain, and that Contador was just enjoying the landscape:D

then we have (hopefully) a more exciting Vuelta to look forward to, if Contador doesn’t win then who? and how? Imagine seeing a rider compete and better Alberto, do we have a new superstar? can Alberto return to form in the 2012 season? these things are more interesting to me than watching Contador dominate (which can also be a joy to behold).

I do not agree.

If that happens I'll be sadface. :(

Imagine a whole season without Alberto winning. :(

And more importantly, that would probably mean he can't win anymore. :(

Only Igor Anton can defy Contador. It's difficult to rank his climbing potential after the previous season, but no matter what I think he is underrated. At that, sometimes it seems long steep sectors suit him even better than Contador. There will be a couple of really hard MTF, iirc, Bola del Mundo and one more used for the first time.

All this because he out-climbed him once at the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon? Igor Anton is a fine climber, but he lacks one important thing: consistency.

And time trial skills.

You forget the ability to stay on the bike once he is on form

So, do you think he is a product of doping?

Anton is like Purito, an exotic bet before any GT he enter. Still to prove his value.
