Any general dislike of Wiggins isn't anything to do with his nationality. It may however have something to do with a certain interview during the tour...

Any what shirt are you speaking of?

This is the last bit of digging i'm doing now people need to stop being so bone idle and start researching a bit.

About time he started learning that the whole world is watching him no?

I agree. The T-shirt was absolutely terrible.

No, children in Slovakia dont know much about him. Ice hockey is number 1 sport.

Ok so the Slovak's on this from were talking absolute rubbish then  Anything to over-hype i guess.

I was a Peter Sagan fan....not anymore.
That poor girl - sexually harassed and humiliated in front of millions of people.
She should press charges.

That Sagan T shirt + harassing someone and 'proud' of it = Sagan a bit rapey

But if you look close she doesn't really mind him doing it. ;)

okay, he could learn some tact and respectability when it comes to females, and he should be spoken to about that by team management. I hope his personality on a bike continues though as it will help grow the sport. Personality is not something which should be frowned upon.

Please tell me that pic was photoshopped. :( If it wasn't, at least tell me this was from his teenage years (not that it excuses it).

No because he was wearing the same one in a picture whilst re-fueling his car.

Regarding Sagan's popularity in Slovakia, yeah, he is quite well known, for example he finished second in the "Best Slovak sportsman of 2012", but ice hockey is still number one sport.

As for the t-shirt, really people? It is obvious from the photo that he was with his friends (or family) and it looks like he didn't even know someone was taking pictures of him. It would be different if he wore a t-shirt like that at some public event but are you seriously bashing a 23 year old kid for the clothes he wears in his private time with friends?

And sexual harassment? Come on... Of course we would have to know how the girl felt about it but in the picture she appears to be smiling and really, I doubt that a girl that gets paid to kiss strangers on a podium would feel humiliated by getting touched by a young, rich, handsome athlete.

HiCadence: Your obsession with Sagan is truly remarkable. Did he steal your girlfriend or something?

I just loved seeing Cancellara breaking the "sprinters" apart on the bergs: Boonen 2009, Sagan 2013, who's next? Good race from Sagan by the way, he could have sticked to the wheelsucker way of racing but he didn't and did some turns with Fabian.
Biggest surprises: Degenkolb (after a really bad early season he pulled a classy result, now a top10 at Roubaix please), Roelandts (smart antecipating the moves, finishing a very good race from Lotto overall), Kristoff (I still remember when he was one of the jokes of the forum), Haussler (finally his legs lived up to his mouth).
Biggest losers/disappointments: Quickstep (failing a top10 on De Ronde is a big fail, regardless of what happened to Boonen), Sky (back to Tenerife?, yeah I know Thomas crashed otherwise he would have sticked with Sagan and Fabian according to Knaven; Hagen, when will he do a top10 in a monument?), Breschel (he's lucky that his team don't need WT points:eek:).

Well, he apologised via Twitter, but still I think he could try to use his brain before he tries to be funny.

Peter Sagan: Was not my intention to disrespect women today on the podium. Just a joke, sorry if someone was disturbed about it.

Apology accepted. :D

Why should it matter that he is a professional athlete?

And what is so wrong with his t-shirt?

If you can't see anything wrong with Sagan's image you obviously have great difficulty figuring out what's right or wrong

She's working for a sponsor. Image is everything. Millions were watching. You think she felt she had much of a choice in public?

Somewhat the same with this though:

Whether they like it or not to get messed around with, podium girls do tend to like being around riders. Maybe they shouldd've asked her what she thinks about it, then we really know.

There's nothing wrong with the T-shirt per se, but when you combine his general cockiness, that t-shirt and his podium antics, you get strong Slovakia Shore vibes, as someone put it on Twitter. This kind of thing isn't spur of the moment goofiness. It's a sign of a broader attitude.

What? He was not in front when the favorites attacked, he was a domestique for George Hincapie. He was right at the front with the favorites the whole time.

2 years of Monument misery because of knee related injuries. Besides, he won E3 Harelbeke and Gent-Wevelgem at age 23.

You were only talking about Monument related results, so what you said was very wrong.

I fail to see what the "he was not a favorite" has to do with this. Sagan wasn't a favorite in his first Monument either and he didn't podium it, far from it actually.

He was right in front of the group ,he was pulling for Hincapie,so he could react easily with this position.I don't care if it was his 1st monument,Im talking about result at 23 years of age not if it was 1st or 5th or whatever...I'm just saying that at 23 yo Sagan is a better monument rider than Boonen nothing more.

You lost me here.

Id be surprised if 1 in every 1000 kids in Slovakia knew who Sagan is.

They know,on top of that almost 10 in every 1000 of kids know him there...are they shocked? No,they are not cos it is 21st century:D

Can´t believe people are angry on Sagan for this shirt and for touching the lady´s a**...

I always thought Germans were the only ones being so... how shall I say... humourless and conservative.

I find it great what he does. Great athlete and great personality.

Please tell me he wasn't with his family in that pic. I think the shirt is far worse than the pinch, though that was certainly in poor taste as well. I don't dislike him as a rider and I don't mind his celebrations but this stuff certainly grants him "tool" status in my book.
