*Sigh* Really Peter?

Wow, I really hope you're not such an insufferable killjoy in real life. Did you not get any Christmas presents while growing up or something?

You realize that Peter is just being himself, right? He has personality, something which many great sportspeople lack. Sagan in all likelihood will probably do more for cycling's popularity than any other rider in this generation.

I hereby withdraw anything bad I've ever said about Sagan.

He is obviously the greatest.

I think it's obvious to everyone that when they're both in top shape, Cancellara is simply the better rider.

Stronger? Sure. Better? Not really.

sexual harassment is totally awesome and uber-classy

This along with that t-shirt covered in obscenities he was so proud of  given the fact almost every slovakian kid worships this guy like a god he really doesn't set a good example.

Had this been Wiggo or somebody else this forum would have jumped all over him for it  but then again he's British.

Different when the shoe is on the other foot i guess right?

He was not a favourite,he was in the front when favourites attacked, with no chance to follow them. And then 2 years of monument misery.Futhermore his first good result from Ronde was in age of 25.Sagan is a bit better in this age,its a fact.

What? He was not in front when the favorites attacked, he was a domestique for George Hincapie. He was right at the front with the favorites the whole time.

2 years of Monument misery because of knee related injuries. Besides, he won E3 Harelbeke and Gent-Wevelgem at age 23.

You were only talking about Monument related results, so what you said was very wrong.

I fail to see what the "he was not a favorite" has to do with this. Sagan wasn't a favorite in his first Monument either and he didn't podium it, far from it actually.

Minimal race action today.
30 minute recap will do for anybody who missed the live show.

A 30 minute recap will do for any race if all the parts where nothing that in retrospect is of any importance for the end result is cut out. Hell, if you don't like watching a bike race unfold just read the results for top 10: Recap in 5 seconds.

Any general dislike of Wiggins isn't anything to do with his nationality. It may however have something to do with a certain interview during the tour...

Any what shirt are you speaking of?

You lost me here.

Id be surprised if 1 in every 1000 kids in Slovakia knew who Sagan was.

Been having Slovakians posting all week how all the kids have his poster plastered on there walls and how they all ride bikes wanting to be like the great Peter Sagan.

You sound like the rest of these selective reading posters only reading what you want to and ignoring everything else?

How big a sample is that? I would love for it to be true that children somewhere are looking up to a cyclist - a classics cyclist rather than a gt one at that, rather than football players and rappers.

But the reality is that with the possible exception of Belgium cycling is a small sport and no one achieves hero worship status among the youth through cycling. The best they can get is 15 minute name recognition after the Tour. If they win it.

Dont really understand that. What am I reading? and what am I ignoring?

maybe our slovakian forum friends can help us but i really think he's well known there

Good luck with that they only pipe up when Sagan wins something but when he loses they are no where to be seen.

I agree. The T-shirt was absolutely terrible.

No, children in Slovakia dont know much about him. Ice hockey is number 1 sport.

I'm sure plenty of people prefer the old course. It was just a matter of when Cancellara was going to pull the pin and who was going to be able to go with him and even that was predictable.

I don't think it was predictable at all that he was able to drop Sagan like that. And Sagan very nearly made it over the hill with him.

Maybe you should ask that woman if she found it funny.

I was a Peter Sagan fan....not anymore.
That poor girl - sexually harassed and humiliated in front of millions of people.
She should press charges.

That Sagan T shirt + harassing someone and 'proud' of it = Sagan a bit rapey

I agree, it was a bit of a **** move from Sagan on the podium. Don't get the support for it on here.

It was 1 thing when the girl at the Tour last year asked him to sign her breasts, its another when a girl who signs on to kiss the winner on the cheek gets grabbed from behind.
