That is not what I said.

What I said is getting your **** groped is more likely to happen to you if you're a podium girl than if you work, say, handing out credentials.
It's funny, with that guy in your avatar you'd expect more open minded views on what women should or shouldn't do for a living. And about men's apparent right to respond to a hot girl doing her job by groping her ****.

You're the one being lazy. I didn't mention, and nor was I referring to, sexual harassment of children...a good number of the complaints being investigated are from adult women who were groped by celebrities who were abusing their position. Get it?

Yeah, they're definately the high profile ones everyone would interpret your words to mean.

I'm beginning to think you don't actually want to understand my point. I explicitly said Sagan is an immature brat and what he did wasn't appropriate, yet you accuse me of defending men's right to groping a girl's ****.

I'm curious though, what does Carlton Kirby have to do with open-mindedness regarding women? I have him on my avatar as a kind of self-inflicted punishment, anyway.

You call my view that women should not apply for a position as podium girls close-minded. In this respect, I'm afraid we will disagree. I do think the position of "podium girl" is inherently sexist and should go.

A good article on the topic: http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/philip-gomes/blog/127363/podium-girls-must-go

Doesn't matter that it makes it more likely. Jesus Christ, you are literally going through the "wearing such a short skirt, she was asking for it!" argument without even realizing it.

If that's not what you said, then I don't understand your ****ing point.

Likelihood of getting sexually assaulted or not has nothing do with wether it's acceptable.

If this had happened in the NFL or Premier League or any other organisation that gives a **** about it's public image, the offender would be facing a massive fine and temporary suspension at the minimum.

Or a more appropriate analogy: I don't know if anyone here follows the UFC, but if a fighter touched one of the ring girls like that (whose job is also looking pretty), Dana White would go ****ing ape**** at him, and he would definitely, certainly never enter the "octagon" again.

Just got in from Easter festivities and saw Fabu's attack and final kms on youtube! Spartacus back in powerhouse form :) E3, Ronde...PR awaits his move!!!

Sagan's time will come, but this year Fabu putting to right his injuries of last year.....has the power to drop them and the TT skills to take it to the line.

Excellence in action :)

It's no secret how much i love my country since you can see the union jack in my avatar and some people got the hump about this, I think it was made clear to me by the reception i recieved when i first joined in on these forums with some very rude comments.

Like British riders have no place in cycling and anything that came from my mouth was invalid because of this.
I do not want to insult you but I really think your lack of cycling knowledge is the main reason here, not your nationalistic bs, which I have not read.

Your love for Sagan though is pretty boring, to say the least.

I never said it comes with the job, nor that podium girls are supposed to be groped. See my response to spalco.

I don't think model or hostess at a convention are quite the same as podium girl, however. A model works showing the newest fashion trends. A hostess receives guests, helps them, serves them, etc.

Their being good-looking girls plays a role, certainly, but their job is not showing their pretty selves to the world for the sake of showing their pretty selves to the world, which is precisely the definition of a podium girl.

I would say a model is more similar to a podium girl than it is to a hostess.

Like podium girls, they are there because of their attractiveness and they are there to be photographed and looked at, not to have any interraction with people.

I can't believe that people are seriously using words like "sexual assault" for what happened. I mean, really? Why not go all the way and call it attempted rape?

If it weren't for the kisses, a podium girl would be more similar to a hostess. After all, podium girls welcome the winners to the podium, give them cues on the celebrations preceedings and bring them their flowers, champaigne bottles and trophys. If they just spared the hugs and kisses it would be ok.

It does matter though. There is a difference.

A girl wearing a short skirt walking around minding her own business with a stranger jumping out of nowhere and groping her is just as reprehensible an act as the same thing happening to a girl wearing jeans.

A cyclist grabbing a podium girl's buttocks is not quite as reprehensible an act as, say, a female sales manager getting her buttocks groped by the visiting manager of another company after a presentation.

Reprehensible it is (yes!). I'll try to be more clear: Sagan is to blame here. The girl is not. And I'll say more: if we want to keep things like this from happening, we'd be well-advised to stop the perpetuation of jobs that portray women as objects of lust.

Demare.
First ever Ronde. And he finishes 24th. Ahead of many many much more experienced riders.

What a talent he is.

And what a trio French have got for future in sprints ( Demare - Bouhanni - Coquard )..
