Breakaway has already formed it seems.

Durbridge, Shaw, Sulzberger, Szollosi and Windsor.

GreenEdge with three riders in the move.

Peloton relaxing, we have our break.

Gap at 2min 8s

The big circuits are all done at the start.

SBS streams are geo-restricted due to it being partially government funded. Only Australians can watch them but you can always try to get around the streams when they start in under 1.5 hours.

Gap now 7mins 30s. I've been told that if the gap gets to 10 minutes, the peloton gets pulled out.

Route for the 10km loops has been slightly changed due to a water main has burst.

Chase has started, break back to 7mins 15 seconds. Very overcast weather. Could rain later.

Some of the local teams such as Drapac and Budget Forklifts are at the front along with a Blanco rider.

The Sulzberger in the break is Bernard, not Wesley, so only 1 GreenEdge rider in the break.

Gap at 8 mins now. According to some reports, the peloton has just decided to start chasing.

Average speed for the first 1.5 hours is 37.33km/h. Slower race so far in comparison to past years

OGE are loving this. They would have hoped the bunch got pulled.

Team Total Rush is starting to chase. I think these 3 big laps at the start have neutralised the race somewhat as the riders simply are just rolling around the course and will only wait until the shorter circuits start.

Supposedly the 10mins rule has come from the chief commissaire.

Not just that, but if it is pulled, then they may as well give the jersey to Durbridge without worrying about finishing the race. :D

Yeah, Durbridge would easily win from this group. If GreenEdge wins today, I am sending a letter to Cadel telling him to get his **** down to Bunninyong next year. :D

UPDATE: Gap down to 6mins50s, Durbridge has stopped working in the break. He will attack once the chase gets within a minute.

If Meyer wins today, ACF will mute tv. I like Meyer, but McGrory, Tomalaris and Mackenzie wet themselves if he wins and will fawn over him like he is god's gift to cycling.

Come on Meyer.

I honestly don't know many Victorian riders, so I can't base my following on states. Ferminal, do you honestly want to listen to a fawning Tomalaris at the end of the coverage?

Nobody wants that.

EDIT: I am barracking for anyone but a GreenEdge rider. Nothing personal, but I like an underdog.

My pick for today is Meyer, roughie Von Hoff. Think Rohan Dennis could be a good chance as well.
