I think Contador will stay with Froome partly through pure determination and partly through no one doing a proper attack. His TT was terrible but then again it looked like he was riding Magnus Backstedt's bike so he might be better in the mountains, especially with Sky's reputation for boring drone-like assents instead of out and out attacks. Conti had better not do try an attack of his own though, unless he wants to be caught by the people that matter and then left behind.

For the Tour, it's not looking good for a close contest. Froome was the better rider than Wiggins last year anyway and only seems marginally weaker this time, whereas his competitors are nowhere ... yet. Let's hope they catch up or it's snoozefest time again.

"@NicoleMorin10: @vamosalberto @albertocontador Can you tell the CN forumers that allergies to pollens are real in France , today? Meteo and others warned us"

Tomorrow rain, btw

I know I've been told off for betting talk, but I've put my money up against Contador. The last time I did this was the night before Fuente De ;)

So there is hope yet !

What a shame the stage thread has been stifled by a dull Bert vs Sky train debate.

I was hoping for debates along the lines of: Will Europcar send any of the usual suspects in the break for the stage win? Will the likes of Samu and Valverde have the legs and the inclination to go for it? And most interesting of all to me...how will the promising youngsters like Dennis, Barguil & Elissonde to name but three get on?

Barguil I don't think is the climber enough to do well here, but he has been skirting on the edges of an impressive performance and he did show last year that he can climb, after all you have to, to win TDA.

Elissonde could do well, don't know enough or seen enough and Dennis is not a climber at all, rather a Time triallist, but hopefully he has the ability to pull something special out of the bag. I can't see him not losing the jersey to Froome but he is a remarkably talented rider.

And also Dennis once again shows how track riders are coming out onto the road and excelling.

I guess CN have deteriorated so much though that you are right, not much chance of learning anything new in these threads..

There are only 2 scenarios: breakaway or Skyborg win

I hope the Sky Train obliterates everyone tomorrow.

Would like to see Kwiatowski do well, but hope he saves something for the Tour.

Outside, no real logic bet, Vichot

I personally see Kwiatowski currently as more of a week long stage race contender. He doesn't have any GT pedigree to compare that with but his abilities seem suited to week long stage races and I just do not see him surviving for 3 weeks at the Tour, still I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Also it will be tough for him as he will have no support from a Cav led team.

Guess you are that type who just never gets enough when the local TV network reruns the same movie over and over. You find equally thrilling to watch each time

No worries, he'll most likely be riding on the front for Cav all day. He shouldn't start with any GC ambition, and perhaps go for a stage.

+ looking down watching his power meter to make sure his gasket won't blow off :D:D

I was just looking at the GC standing. Funny... Is this a joke or what? It appears as if sky is the only one who are keen to win this race. All GC contenders (contador, purito, valverde, JVB seem to make a pack to take andy's mantra to soft pedal? They are all way down to 2:00+ after ITT. Either none of them is seriously aiming for win and for them this a training race or they are actually still under form with 3 weeks to go. From top 15, looks like only Rogers, Moreno, Navarro, Grivko that are most likely will survive in the mountain (maybe) to come and keep their high placing

If it's true, time to rooting for other rider then. It'll be snooze fest with Froome - Porte show. Unless someone wants to test their form against the sky express. It's their race now to loose. if they can't win it, that's a disaster for them.

I miss the days of a race thread without polls and when polls was only for the off season.

+1
It's a little annoying to have to scroll past the poll on every page. Wish the forum software could be tweaked to only display poll on page 1.

Or we could just stop having so many polls. . . :p
