what about Mollema
Don't think so...Porte and Froome seem miles ahead...besides - somebody always says that Mollema needs lot of racing days to get into form.

In that kind of shape and at the age of 28 Porte has no time to waste playing the domestique, guy needs to put pressure on sky to give him a free role at the tour, beating froome today would do that.

It would be smart for Sky to 'give' this to Porte, to make sure Porte works for Froome in the Tour. Good as Porte is, he isn't good enough (yet...) to win the Tour, while Froome is.

Lol horner is 41 and still very near to the best. I dont think Porte is pressed for time

Froome has a 2nd place in the Tour, and 2nd and 4th in the Vuelta, in just two years as GC leader. Porte is the same age, and in fairness hasn't impressed as much. Bear in mind that Froome wasn't the team leader initially either.

Of course Porte's form right now seems to be great, but that was probably also the plan: have Porte peak in March, and domestique for his leaders later on. He said last year he had his best form of the year in Algarve.

You're right, the top 10 of the Tour is practically full of 41 year olds.

Except that the USA team, Talansky and Van Garderen, will make Porte pay for what he did in P-N.

The only way I can see them doing that is putting him into the gutter.
