Even several stages into the Giro Wiggins is still an unknown quantity. I don't think anyone really knows if he's in 2010 shape and bluffing about how amazing his numbers are. Anyway, we'll know soon enough if he fails to win the TT and gets dropped like a sack of cement in the mountains.

And I think you all know where such a discussion belongs.

Agreed, but it is pretty hard to discuss racing tactics without making a reference to clean/not clean because of the sordid history of the last 30 years! Are we supposed to discuss racing tactics in a vacuum that assumes cycling is now clean?

my god. cycling is very clean and if you don't like it go to the clinic. I've been banned for stuff not half as bad as this

Are you sure you're Canadian? Not a member of the Dutch general public?

There speaks a fan!

But, apart from what he says himself, there is really no evidence to support this and plenty to cast doubt on it.
Loosing 17 seconds yesterday says a lot...why wasn't he next to Nibali & Hyserdal?
Last year he would not have allowed that to happen, nor would the team

I think Hyserdal looks very strong, as does Astana, so its all to play for!

Well, it's not obvious to a lot of people on here. E.g.

Don't think Wiggins can follow his teammates

Maybe there's a bit of wishful thinking in posts like this because most ppl on here loathe Wiggins.

In Oman he didn't even compete, in Catalunya he was so-so, then finally when there might have been a face-off with Nibali, he had a mechanical. And we haven't seen him TT once in the whole year.

Anyway, we'll know soon enough what he's bringing.

pretty ironic since I"m about the biggest wiggins hater you will find. I wish him all the worst things, but I'm not blind. there is nothing that hints he's bad. just wishful thinking by haters

and the reason why he wasn't in front yesterday is becaus ehe can't place himself, he can't steer in the rain and the colombians didn't help him and he was withotu other teammates

So its ok for you to keep posting about the clinic here because you are too scared to confront people there in the actual subforum, but not ok for others? Got it.

scared isn't the word. but talking about doping in the clinic is like going to a mental insitution for rapists as a hot chick to discuss the virtue of living celibatly

and I don't talk about clinic stuff anywhere here.

Ryo, please calm it with such analogies. I hear you, but man please choose something less offensive next time. And it is offensive. Thanks.

Strange question. Not you obviously by your response. But me and probably many others who may read it, especially any female members.

Are you saying ALL women who'd read that get automatically offended? That's rather a sweeping statement.

If you think cycling is clean, you are in Wonderland. I have seen the reasons you have been banned from time to time and you are way over the top with your comments and way beyond anything I have posted.

If you say someone is dirty, it's clinic. If you say someone is clean, it's clinic.

Do you understand that Ryo? Either discuss it in the clinic or don't post about it. Posting about it here is not an option.

Hello all. Who do you reckon is going to do well in the ITT on Saturday other than Wiggins? Is there any other rider that has a chance of beating him and what do you think of Cadel Evans' chances of a good result on Saturday?

Thanks. I see Phinney tweeted this morning that he's suffering from a fever so hopefully for his sake he can recover in time.

Then it'll be difficult for him. The course is very varied, with a rolling and technical first part, before a flat part, and then it ends with a sharp hill. Phinney needs to be at his top to challenge Wiggo on a course like that. IMO.

The rolling nature of the course is what makes me doubt Phinney as a rival to Wiggins for the stage, despite him being 3 kilograms lighter than this time last year.
Of the main GC contenders, other than Wiggins, who do you think will do well?
