Hesjedal will surprise everyone and be within a couple of minutes of Wiggo

I think Kessiakoff and Dowsett will be fighting for 3rd place if Phinney is ill.

Intxausti sounds like a good shout as far as the other GC contenders go. I suppose he'll like the nature of the course as well.

Danielson will surprise.

And Scarponi will not be far behind Nibali.

The rolling nature of the course is what makes me doubt Phinney as a rival to Wiggins for the stage, despite him being 3 kilograms lighter than this time last year.
Of the main GC contenders, other than Wiggins, who do you think will do well?

Evans and Sanchez.

Are you sure you're Canadian? Not a member of the Dutch general public?

Yeah I am sure. Because we all know why God invented the Dutch!

My two cents worth is that Ryder will pick off bonus points in a methodical way and put down the hammer on the ups and make all you Uropean prognastycators look silly!

It will be Canadian beer in the trophy!

Well he's good at prologues and downhills too. He's fast in corners (but usually too fast :D)

he's explosive but he's not good at downhils or steering at all. he's also bad at placing himself in a peloton. very bad in fact

Anything over 2'00" would be a disappointment, if Sanchez is in competitive shape.

Of course, we haven't seen him in that sort of shape for over a year, and he is 35.

Given the technical nature of the route, I reckon a peak form Sanchez only looses a minute to a peak form Wiggins. I don't, however, think we have a peak form Sanchez racing here.

wow, you are seriously overrating samu's itt. the firts result you post is a climbing itt, last one too a bit and losing 1:40 to evans equals 3 minutes at leats to wiggins even in topshape

He was 6th in his last long ITT at the 2011 Tour. He can pull a very good chrono out when it matters IMO. The one in the 2010 Tour was notoriously windy. Hopefully he's motivated enough for this one because he's better on paper than most of the GC field. Considered one of the better riders technically also. His off year last year at his age is no good though.

pretty ironic since I"m about the biggest wiggins hater you will find. I wish him all the worst things, but I'm not blind. there is nothing that hints he's bad. just wishful thinking by haters

and the reason why he wasn't in front yesterday is becaus ehe can't place himself, he can't steer in the rain and the colombians didn't help him and he was withotu other teammates

Well, you were right about two of the three reasons!

But: I still think he's not right....I wondered if he had strapping on his left thigh under his shorts, which became visible after he fell...he may be carrying an injury after all that big gear uphill training he's been doing to try to catch up this year.

Also, the way Brailsford handles all the press....Wiggins is keeping a secret.

Blaming the time loss on a fall is a joke: both he and Nibali fell, but one got up and got on with it, while the other looked like he wished he just wasn't there

I AM a fan, but I'm not blind, and I think Nibali will beat him in tomorrows TT.

Nibali 2.2
Sir W 3.28
Hesje 5.56
Cadel 12.9

Current odds

Think im gonna put my money on Hesjedal right now. He looks as strong as Nibali so far in my opinion.
