Nibali was dropped on Giau already?
Nope.

Purito, Arroyo, Contador and Rujano had a 5 seconds gap on a group of 8 riders on the top of Giau. Nibali was in that group. Shortly after the two groups melted together to a 12-man group.

He then attacked on the descent. It wasn't until he was caught on Fedaia that he was dropped.

Michele Acquarone:
“Tomorrow is rather complicated as there’s snow throughout the region. We’re in contact with the French authorities and with Luc Eisenga of AIGCP to find the best solution for the safety of the riders and for the race. The ideal would be to do the whole stage but we’ll see.”

Believe it or not, but attacking so far out and riding solo does cost a lot of energy.

which....anyway doesn't prevent you from accusing Froome of early unsuccessfull Vuelta attacks.

form the INRNG twitter

the race will climb Mont Cenis, maybe neutralized for a few kms, and finish line in Les Granges du Galibier (that's quite high)
they made an avalanche fall down on the Mont Cenis, for security

Mont Cenis neutralised. Stage finish at Les Granges du Galibier (2300m) but no spectators allowed past Plan Lachat (2000m)? Hard to believe.

I think that's too high. They should stop in at Plan Lachat

Hoping we get a race we can see tomorrow.

Neutralized on Cenis or not?

Nothing so far.

You would think they would mention it if it was neutralised when they were putting this out.

Let's see. Fingers crossed.

That's great. Fingers crossed the new version of the stage (just 4.25 KM less) can be raced. Hoping for a epic Italian victory.

Nothing about Cenis being neutralised in the statement that was released just now.

STAGE 15: CESANA – COL DU GALIBIER
STATEMENT BY THE RACE DIRECTORS

Following the order by the Valloire Prefecture, and taking note that – after 24 hours, following the assessment of the weather conditions – the Prefecture itself has revised its position, by authorizing the original course of stage 15, the Direction of the Giro d'Italia integrally confirms the original itinerary except for the last 4,250 kms.
The finish will therefore be set in Les Granges du Galibier - Monumento Pantani (Pantani Monument).
The start, initially scheduled for 12:30 pm, is rescheduled to 1:00 pm.

Considering the ever-changing weather conditions, should the weather deteriorate during the night, the Direction of the Giro reserves the right to make further modifications in order to protect the riders’ and caravan’s safety.

Wishfor good weather and hope the French air traffic controllers are a little lenient than the Italians.

How much is it for an unmanned drone I wonder. Surely then there would be no issues ever
