Rujano is apparently good outside races but always has one problem or another so ends up sucking.

Gesink is apparently good outside races but always has one problem or another so ends up sucking.

Why is it that for you one of them is the talent of the century and the other is someone who is lucky to have made it to pro? Their career paths seem very similar.

how many stagewins and podiums does gesink have in gt's?

also scitni is VERY mad at being forced by his sponsor to sign di luca. the boss of vini fantini is a friend of di luca, while scinto had made it clear he didn't want di luca. be assured he won't get any help from his team this giro. it will be 8 vini fantini and di luca 1 man team wearing the same shirt

And still, if they were the worst team in the race: so what? They don't have the biggest budget and decided to spend a large chunk of that budget to the worlds second best sprinter and giving him the support he needs. And as a Belgian team funded by the national lottery they have Belgiums best GC-rider too.

They could have signed some semi-interesting (relatively expensive) guys who are always there or thereabouts and they would end up like Vacansoleil. And I also think they have learned their lesson about attracting expensive guys like Dani Moreno, Popovych, Cioni who were expected to lead but failed horribly due to whatever reason.

it shows again why it's pathetic to have 18 wt teams. 12 is much better. I much rather have an extra wildcard team(or less teams as a whole) in then this ridiculous lotto team or argos, or fdjeux.

FDJ are ok in terms of depth- they are good for stage wins and this year in France Pinot could get the White jersey.
Though admittedly i am sure they want to target only 2 GT's a year- but now they also have Bouhanni and Demare they should be able to compete in sprints too- whilst Fedrigo, Casar and Pinnot should get stagewins in breaks.

Popovych was useless, Moreno always had talent and has done much better at Katusha, Cioni was a decent domestique and that was all. They probably never got over the fact that Evans never won the Tour for them and JVB never will. I think they would rather have another McEwen.

They do have Greipel... he can get them stage wins at the TDF- in fact his amount last year is the same as Robbies' highest tally.

TST-
Rafal Majka, Matti Breschel, Daniele Bennati, Rory Sutherland, Bruno Pires, Mads Christensen, Karsten Kroon, Manuele Boaro and Evgeny Petrov.

The only surprise for me is no Kreuziger (i remember someone on here saying Majka will ride for him) but that is smart to keep him for the TDF anyways.

Of course Greipel is doing fine. I think they got frustrated with dual GC/sprinting focus when Evans was there.

they are not in depth at all. what classics can they win? what gt's can they podium or even top 5? any team cna win stages in gt's, and bouhanni and demare aren't faster than the 5 fastest sprinters so they never win massprints in gt's either.

Vichot, Ladagnous for the Northern Classics.
No idea for the Ardennes.

Pinot probably could at the Vuelta- if he did not ride the TDF.
Ellissonde and Pinot both can in the future- based on talent.

Demare is one year younger than Sagan and Bouhanni is the same as Sagan- they only rode their first GT's last year, in a squad that up until now has not really bothered with sprint trains for the last few years (huta being the exception), so give them time.

My point about them having depth is maybe being taken too literally by you, sure they do not have the riders who can grab them a lot of wins (Voeckler, Rolland) but they have quite a few good riders and are more deserving of a WT spot then some- AG2R from last year, Argos this year...

I think two cyclist don't get the attetion they deserve to get.
Santambrogio and Inxausti. Inxausti was 6th last year before he got ill. This year he looks stronger, he didnt have bad luck like all years before (like the dead of Tondo and several crashes. He has a good time trial and Movistar is usually good in TTT.
Santambrogio on the other hand is flying this year. Last years he was nowhere, but this year he seams the only one kinda able to follow Nibali. Today he won GP Larciano btw.

If you had 12 WT teams and six extra wildcards who would you give them to for the Giro?
