He would have brought excitement by attacking once, getting rolled back in seconds and then withdrawing.

It's still better than any other Vacansoleil rider can do

Why's he not starting?

That's a disaster.

As others siad probably concerns about being investigated and and attempt by the team to appease the sponsors.

Nibbles is a crafty rider, I rate his ability to find time in opportunistic scenarios and the giro generally provides these chances more so then the tour and vuelta.
Not sure I would agree that he is crafty. He likes to attack but sometimes those attacks are destined to go nowhere but he will still waste his energy. But then again that is partly why he is good to watch.

More interested to see how his TTing is. I have a feeling he won't lose as much time on some of the main GC field as he has in previous outings.

Apropos of nothing in particular, but an interesting reflection of the breadth of capacities of the participating teams, the cumulative CQ scores of the nine men in each team:

The remarkable thing about that list is that Greenedge are third and they will most likely do f all.

To be fair, Weening has been going very well. Can't see it translating into more than a top 15 though. Could be wrong.

Don't recall Garmin having anybody (GC) to ride for at that point.

I think it indicates just how much stronger Wiggo is today. Almost everybody expects Wiggo to crush Nibali in the uphill TT in the Giro this year.

Check out the 9543234 corners. Anyone who thinks that TT is in any way a good benchmark for this year's long ITT is having a laugh.

yes, looks messy, but then check out TdF stage 18 (40km TT) from the same year:

1. CONTADOR VELASCO Alberto AST 48'30" 80
2. CANCELLARA Fabian SAX 03" 50
3. IGNATIEV Mikhail KAT 15" 35
4. LARSSON Gustav Erik SAX 33" 25
5. MILLAR David GRM 41" 15
6. WIGGINS Bradley GRM 43" 10
7. SANCHEZ GIL Luis Leon GCE 44" 5
8. MOREAU Christophe AGR 45" 3
9. KLÖDEN Andreas AST 54" 2
10. ZABRISKIE David GRM 01'02" 1

Plenty of data points to suggest Wiggins is now much stronger in TTs than in 2009.

Weening already mentioned he won't target the general classification, but a stage win. If he performs well maybe Pieter could put an eye on the blue jersey, who knows. He has been in pretty good shape this spring so far.

some tasty outsiders in the field looking at it tonight kiserlovski finally having a go as team leader has always looked a talent feel on some hard luck last season. Also interested see how Inxausti can go.

That of course with Santambrogio who has been really good this season.

Just browsed through the stage-by-stage anaysis. How long will Cav stay in the race? More than a week? There aren't that many opportunities for him. Puncheurs will have many stages though.

Sagan would win like 6 stages if he entered.

What is this a surprise? I'm more concerned about what Ryo has to say. :D

That's the sad thing isn't it, it's not that much of a surprise.
Ryo will probably say it's all part of the plan, he's peaking for the Vuelta remember? :D
