Who will beat Hesjedal for the podium? Evans is not looking as bad as before, but Hesjedal looks really good.

Hoping Ryder Podiums but Garmin never support him like Sky check out his team so far?
DEKKER Thomas
HOWES Alex
STETINA Peter
VANDEVELDE Christian
Stetina and VDV did a good job last year but they need Danielson to be a team player...
come on vaughters give up the goods if you want to see Ryder on the Podium!
Also when did ryder become a Great at the TT?
I like to see him on the Podium at the Tour!
Cheers

Before anything else, Wiggo was a prologue specialist. Technical TTs don't hurt him at all, he knows everything about cornering and cadence.

yep, he was and he he isn't anymore. he lost lots of his explosiveness since dropping so much weight in garmin and sky

Last years Tour? What?Wiggins was in form of his life and Henao wasnt there. How can you compare these?
Firstly, its extra technical TT,up and downs, lot of corners,Henao explosivness is tailor made for this TT,he can sprint off the corners etc.Secondly, there is 3k hill in the end, which will be pretty decisive, last km is more than 10%,so this is again for Henao.I say 2'30 - at max. 3'00 on Wiggins.

Just because you say 2:30 - 3:00 doesn't mean it will happen. I say min 4'00 for Wiggins.

Oh yeah he lost it at mighty Algarve in which Matin wanted desperately to win.:D It was first stage race of the year for him and Martin is natural TT and he is better than Wiggins imo.

I'm not saying Wiggins is better than Martin, but it's hard to say for sure that Wiggins is worse. These are all the most recent head-to-head ITT results of Wiggins vs Martin, all from 2012.

Volta ao Algarve Stage 5 25.8km
1. Wiggins
2. Martin at 0:00

Paris-Nice Prologue 9.4km
2. Wiggins at 0:01
28. Martin at 0:25

Paris-Nice Stage 8 9.6km
1. Wiggins
25. Martin at 1:37

Critérium du Dauphiné Prologue 5.8km
2. Wiggins at 0:01
5. Martin at 0:05

Critérium du Dauphiné Stage 4 53.5km
1. Wiggins
2. Martin at 0:34

Tour de France Prologue 6.1km
2. Wiggins at 0:07
45. Martin at 0:23

Tour de France Stage 9 38km
1. Wiggins
12. Martin at 2:16

Olympic
1. Wiggins
2. Martin at 0:42

MTT-imo he will gain on Wiggins couple of seconds,he is better climber

Wiggins has won MTTs too.

the compared itt you choose with henao though, martin was a monster in algarve itt this year. number 2 finished more than a minute. henao rode faster times than many strong itt riders like chavanel and he lost less than 2 minutes to westra, castroviejo and other strong itt rider in 35 km of very non technical itt. henao improved his itt tremendously over the winter.

That's actually not bad for a start; lets see how they fill the rest. I agree they should add Danielson if they're really serious about defending the title.

I'm fairly certain Dan Martin will be doing the Tour. And it will be either him or Talansky as Garmin's top 10 man.
That would be the first sign of consistency over 3 weeks in Dan Martin.

VDV and Stetina as mountain support in the Giro does look fairly weak, although Stetina had a strong spell earlier in the season. But the number of climbers on Garmin isn't that big, they have to make choices.

perhaps it looks weak-ish, but Sky and Astana will be doing most of the work anyway. Hesjedal can capitalize on that. Gesink the same.

Yes Kennaugh not riding - also Porte, Kiryienka, Lopez out. Wtf? Knees will start.

What do you mean? Porte, Kiri and Lopez are being saved for the Tour because they've been so impressive this season. Makes perfect sense because trying to perform well in two consecutive grand tours is very difficult even for the helpers. Sky don't have a good history in that regard. Wiggins 2010 Giro - Tour and then look at Froome and Porte in the Vuelta after the Tour last year. Knees might start the Tour too, but it depends on how he recovers from the Giro. Personally I'd prefer a fresh Stannard.

Martin will do TDF indeed as will Talansky. Im pretty Danielson will do California so no Giro.

Garmin will be a bit thin in the Giro then but still miles better than BMC. Evans will have Pinotti returning from injury, maybe Moinard, not much climbing talent on offer. Their strength will be on the flat stages as usual which Evans seems to like anyway. He will be following Sky and Astana in the mountains anyway and possibly Blanco.

Hopefully Gesink cracks already in the first week, so that Kruijswijk is allowed to ride for his own chances. Otherwise it will be a big Rabofal again.

That's pretty much what I was thinking when I saw both Gesink and Kruijswijk on the official startlist.
