Fingers crossed it´s dry and everything goes without serious crashes and injuries...
It's more about if that report was true. Doesn't make sense to me.Miburo said:It was in a belgian cycling magazine from this year (spring edition). Don't have a source for it.
I guess it depends in how much faith you have in my reading ability and truthfullness.
Oh yeah, this is a great stage for my man Nibali to take time on the rest of the favorites and Wiggins. It could be epic!whittashau said:http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/Marina+di+Ascea+ITCM1514:1:IT
according to this the weather might play it's part

Out of curiosity, has a stage ever been cancelled due to thunderstorms?

RHRH19861986 said:Depends on the circumstances, for sure. Might become dangerous, maybe not.
Sky will want to make sure he doesn't get away, so having some teammates with him would help.UselessToo said:Vuelta 2011, 6.stage - Sagan, Nibali, Capecchi and Agnoli (+ Lastras from Movistar)
Viking said:It's never too early. He's going to get blown away in the stage 8 chrono, and would lose the jersey anyway. He needs all the time he can get elsewhere. Besides, they'd only have to actively defend on stage 4 and 7. The sprinter's teams are probably going to be working hard on stages 5 and 6 to go for a win.

I expect Nibali will try something. He's called a demon descender, and he needs to take time on Wiggins whenever the opportunity presents itself. It would be stupid to not try something IMO. Was thinking he and Astana might try something like this actually.

While certainly on Belgian tv there suddenly was hype about the Giro's first week being too dangerous, with a few nervous descents along the coastline, that had nothing to do with it. The guy was just looking behind on a very unfortunate moment.RHRH19861986 said:Somehow strange, Weylandt died two years ago, and now such a stage profile.

airstream said:I bet Nibali won't budge until stage 10. Willingness to try to gain the time whereever it is possible would only backfire for him in high mountains.
airstream said:Nibali may attempt, but it will show only weakness. A GC man trying to take time on stage like this — pfffff....![]()
Though as far as I remember Nibbs tried something similar in the Vuelta when Sagan won.
Zam_Olyas said:Wiggins is the fav everyone knows that what should nibali according to you in this race?
airstream said:Nibali should try to put an extreme effort in the mountains + maybe on the stage straight after Galibier. 5 MTFs is enough to take back hypothetical 3 minutes, if Wiggo turns out to be not very good.
