Not sure what today proves for Evans - I wouldn't expect descending to get worse with age. He didn't make the initial selection, and by the time he rejoined there were 25 riders.

he proved enough good shape to grab second place & the time bonus;) I still have him out of the podium, but he may well cause trouble to the main contenders, by-for example- stealing precious time bonuses at the finish line from them;)

Where's link to bonus info?

Are there any bonus seconds tomorrow?

& is there a link to daily bonuses if and when there are any?

This is almost guaranteed to be an exciting few weeks if today has any indiction. Reality says everyone must attack Sky hard. Scarponi is in a position to put huge pressure on the leaders because while He's only about a minute back, leaders are going to want to keep Him at bay. Sky may not be allowed to sit back; their minimum will be increased to make Borginns squirm funny.

With his time trialing and climbing consistence, Evans will be in top 5 almost certainly.
All pure climbers will end behind him.

20'',12'',8'' in any stage, TTs excluded.
There are also 6'',4'',2'' on any intermediate sprint ("TV" on the profiles)

He's been crap at climbing and TTing this year to date, can't see anything much cming from him tbh this Giro.

He's shown some quality in Trentino.
But the point is that pure climbers won't make up lost time in the tt on Evans.

You mean Oman, he hasn't been that good since then. And he isn't going to take much time on any other riders than the <65kg guys, with the form he showed over the past year and a half.

It'll be rather dull. Break to take it. GC boys to cover each other. Perhaps some pathetic attempts to liven things up (vide Hesjedal).

Let us hope that the Sky power meters develop a fault. Heaven forbid! They might actually have to ride like it wasn't just another turbo session....

Evans was much better on the final climb at Trentino and reportedly rode within himself. The past year and a half has been affected by health issues. If those are finally behind him it will be very interesting in this Giro. I'll concede the health issues could be age related (advancing age could affect immunity under stress?). We will see.

I'm afraid you're thinking of an Evans near the top of his game, which we might not see again.
He's good enough to leave all climbers behind himself.

Evans won't top5
It's really cool that he does the Giro because now there will be no doubts that TVG must be leader at TdF

I thought Evans mopped up 2nd place with a surprising amount of ease. That could be quite a big deal. Without Purito here he could be the natural successor to all those bonus seconds on offer. Including on this stage if BMC fancy it

Could see Hesjedal trying to put some pressure on Sky again, if he does then hopefully Nibali will join him this time. I expect Scarponi could try to get some time back.

Santambrogio to take it. Would be nice to see Pozzovivo and Betancur try something as well.

I doubt Wiggins is going to get dropped tomorrow, he might even try to pull a "Catalunya" to test the field and show off his claimed new climbing abilities...

Tomorrow is an excellent opportunity for Wiggins to take time on his opponents, the climb suits him very much. On the other hand if Wiggins get dropped on the slope then his chance of winning Giro is close to zero, but I don't think that will happen tomorrow.

mm I wouldn't underestimate Evans too much, I don't see him winning, but top 5 is a realistic proposition for him.
Scarponi has already lost time, and Evans has a good kick which might see him take bonus seconds.

Hhmm. I'm liking what I'm seeing so far from Cadel. Me thinks he has July in mind;)

What to get a top 10 if he is lucky, if he was to get a podium in the TDF this year at his age then take it to the other place.:D
