That is if the idea of Wiggins having had a bug is true.

I didn't say or suggest you sacrifice Brad because, as you note, he could keep close and remain in contention. I'm thinking it wouldn't have made much of a difference if one of the Colombians was allowed to ride for themselves. It's irrelevant at this point.

So split times at every point is to much. Two is to few. What number of check points should there be Goldilock?

Would not surprise me. If I were Wiggins (especially if he's ill) I'd just drop out and focus on the Tour now, I don't think he's interested in riding for a top 10 spot.
