GC action will happen all by itself in weather like this. They don't even really have to attack per se, just go a little quicker and gaps open up.

How exactly could a weak team become an advantage?
People will need support in that 3rd week.
The current gc standings on the other hand, are an advantage. Hopefully astana & sky will have to kill themselves attacking/defending.

He is however on days like this he won't lose any time. The only GC guy who will lose time is Wiggins unless he has grown a pair in the last 24 hours.

Last year Hejsedal was weak on a stage, they didnt kill him off and it came back to bite them.

If there is a possibility to take more time out of wiggins and give themselves more room in the mountains, its worth a try.

Because BMC wont be expected to work. Sky and Astana will also be willing to control the race, even without the leader's jersey on one of their riders' shoulders.
