Wiggins did a great descent a month or two ago in Catalunya, confidence seems shot.

If it was dry then I don't think he would lose any time. In the wet however and he can't cope, he's had complete headloss.

Has there actually been any objective evidence for Wiggins' claim that he is in the form of his life? TT was very average by his standards and he hasn't dropped anyone in any climbs this year that I can remember.

I appreciate that you have to be somewhat selfish to be a champion, but anyone with a shred of decency would just admit they haven't got it for this race and demote themselves from the position of team leader.

Gesink isn't not known for staying upright. so he'll keep wiggins company through out the descend, holding hand singing.. kumbayaaaaaaa my looooooordd... kuuuummbaaaayaaaaaaaaaa...while nibbles, evans and hesjedal cruising down hill at high speed.

Not guaranteed that Wiggins will get dropped on descents in the days to come. Tomorrow is a rest day which might give him a chance to get back there mentally and if its drier through the rest of the race then a few teams might be regretting not putting the pressure on earlier.

There was an idea a few years back that he was a poor descender but he seemed to have put those ideas to bed. Seems that poor descending has resurfaced for some reason.
