from ovada to arrenzano they will go by cars
they will time the gap in ovada and will start with the same gap in arrenzano
basically 40 kms less :(

Does that mean they will be riding way ahead of schedule? TV coverage?

Doubtful, as the rime to do 40km by bike in normal conditions will likely be no different to that taken to transfer to the the cars & travel over the pass in bad conditions. If anything there'll be a delay I suspect.

i think so.it will mess up the tv schedules pretty bad

Doubt it.

they're cutting 46km so circa 1 hour.

I very much doubt they will be able to stop, get organised, get on buses, drive over there, unload, faff about and get started much quicker than that.

It might be snowing but the road looks clear enough. What's the problem?

That's the autostrada. The race climbs the Strada Statale, so it is likely to be worse.

Shuttle buses? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Who came up with that?

It almost doesn't matter to me anymore who wins after that, there'll always be an asterisk beside this year's race in my mind.

Fuc*** weather. It's been raining in Portugal for months now, races cancelled in Belgium and now even on the italian seaside, in mid-March (!), there's snow. It's a pity really

How will they even be able to keep the same gap? A break of only 6 riders will obviously be able to get on and off the busses quicker than the entire peloton. Will the break have to wait at the new starting point for the rest of the riders to arrive and then ride off and after about 11-12 minutes, they start everyone else?
