as much as I would like to see the race go on, what makes it MSR has been taken out! The distance is short and there is no LeMaine. All the sprinters should have their hopes up now

What does that have to do with anything? So Boonen doesn't feel like his chances at winning MSR are good enough to jeopardize the rest of the classics season. Doesn't mean MSR might well turn out to be far too easy, even with the cold and the rain.

We don't have mountains in Denmark, and still we have had a lot of cold and snow this winter/spring/last autumn....
