If they don't adjust the gap to the breakaway, they'll stay away...

This is becoming an absolute joke to be honest :(

This is getting more and more absurd.

Cavendish for the win after all I suppose.

Congratulations to whoever wins this.

Payed 20 times more than in 1988 and yet 20 times less balls.

They are going to start at Finale Ligure, around 85km to the finish

:(

They should cancel this all together, it is not MSR anymore

so those bunch of 6 riders with 7 minutes in advance might have a chance?

I doubt that the breakaway will be able to sustain it after this forced break. With the loss of the Marnie, I'm assuming that this will end up just being a sprint finish and Cav will get to tell us how great he is. It does ruin my morning as I was looking forward to watching an exciting race in the comfort of my heated house.

Stop whining already, nobody forces you to watch this lmao

Who's whining? people are just expressing their disappointment at so much of the race being canceled, that's all. Nothing wrong with it.

It won't be a traditional MSR, but it's still MSR. With the snow and the cold, we might see a Traksel take it.

@katushacycling
The race hasn't re-started yet: looks like some buses got lost! That's gonna be quite a day to remember..

Too bad EBH chose this season to not train home in Norway at all. He's basically only been in Mallorca this year, so he's no more used to such conditions than most people!

Back in Norway, this would just be a typical training ride for him :p

Hmm, apparently the weather closer to the finish line is fine enough. So with only 200 km this could be an easy one indeed. They should make them go around in circles or something to complete 250 km at the very least.

They should climb Passo Ghimbegna then Poggio to finish the race

This was the first proper race of the season that I was going to be able to watch. Was really looking forward to it; i made sure i had nothing else to do today (which being in belfast was a big sacrifice on st paddys day), had any wee messages/chores needing done all done the day before. Just had lunch, have a nice cup of tea made but no racing to watch.

On the plus side, my twitter feed is entertaining me more than usual

Apparently they won't do anything like that because they don't want to screw up the TV schedules

and I'm guessing they don't have a magic legal right to demand extra road closures at the drop of a hat.
