Really missing Boom in this poll. I know he didn't look convincing in E3/RVV, but he didn't last years either, and still did good in Roubaix.

He's also known as Other with 17%.

The moment I saw you posted here I knew you were going to mention Boom.

But... I was about to make the same post lol.

I'm missing Phinney. Really hope he'll win now that Boonen won't :(

I love how a bit of hype from jens attacks suddenly has Gaudin as a favourite for Roubaix. Kinda like how 30% of the CQ game contenders picked Ospina after some brutal hype from Ryo.

bernaudeau said about him that he will be monster strong in roubaix. we'll see
anyway cancellara should be terrified by him

If there weren't cameras there we would never have heard about it. I mean its not like pro riders never fall off their bike during training.

Cancellara just crashed in a training ride.
I'm starting to think Canc won't win this. Being such an overwhelming favorite could wind up working against him. Devolder is going to play a critical role, I think. And now, he has his 2nd crash in a few days. No telling what effect they might have but they certainly can't help.

People like EBH, Van Avermaet, Haussler and Paolini have no place on that poll ahead of guys like Vansummeren, Boom and Flecha.
There were almost 20 guys who were on the list to go on the poll without too much separating them. In the end, I mostly went with my personal predictions. It really hurt me to leave Flecha out but I would be thrilled to be wrong. First thought I had when it was done was "DT won't be happy without a Dutch option, particularly Boom." I have no faith in Vansummeren.

We need a Poll as to who will be the top placed rider other than Fabian

In retrospect, that would have made for a much more interesting poll. Of course the choice for the 9 would have been that much harder and more contentious.

yeah but Thomas and EBH really have no place in that poll. Considering past results alone and just look at Boom last 2 years. Oh well :p

Sometimes current form is more important than past results...but not for P-R. Skills on the cobbles is everything here, so I think Boom will at least be top 10 even if his form is ****. Same with Hushovd, really.

It wouldn't matter if Boom was included though, as more than half of all votes go to Cancellara anyhow. There are 20-30 riders who could profit when Cancellara's in trouble, but it's just a guess who'll benefit the most IF that happens. Could be anyone from Roelandts to Thomas. We could as well have a podium of EBH, Hushovd and Kristoff, it can get really ridiculous.

Well, last year Boom exploded after 257 km, it is very likely that he will explode at some point :D

Do you base that on Stannard's RVV performance, where he almost was top 100? He seems to only do well in terrible weather, so the weather forecast works against him.

Thomas or EBH probably won't win the race, but they are still the best options for Sky IMO.

Nope, based on horses for courses. ATMO Stannard or Hayman will be best placed of the Sky riders.
